Hi again. I have been seeing a few posts about using a shine spray on my extensions. What do you recommend? I want one that I can buy at Sally's or Planet Beauty that doesn't cost a lot of money (and by a lot I mean no more than $15 ). I don't want to have to order it online - I want to be able to go buy it at a local store. I know someone said Citre Shine, but I can't find where to buy it or how much is costs (Sally's & Planet Beauty's website didn't have it).

Also, is it normal to get split ends on my extensions? I mean I know it's practically dead human hair...but I washed my hair for the first time last night (oh my god - I thought my head was going to snap off of my neck it was so heavy!!) and after I blow-dried it I noticed a few split ends. Is that OK?

Hey

I use Doo Gro Hair Polish Shine Mist from Sally's and it cost me $5.59. Ive used it on both human and synth hair. I put it on the ends and blow them dry and it makes them nice and shiny and silky. You have to be extra careful not to get this around the bond tho. When Ive had glued in wefts Ive used this spray to get them out, it works on the latex glue and liquid gold. I especially like to use this spray when I take my extensions out. It has vitamins in it and I think it really strengthens my hair for the next extension installation.

As far as the split ends question goes, I dont know. Ive only used human hair a couple of times and it was bad hair to begin with.

Oh yeah, Ive tried Citre Shine too and WalMart has it.

Thanks for the recommendation. I have fussion extensions...does that mean too much spray or conditioner will make them fall out?? I washed my hair last night and only put a little conditioner on my scalp and a lot on the rest of my hair and so far no extensions have come out!

Citre Shine and braid spray are both good--just keep them away from the actual bonds.

As far as the split ends, it does happen--the lower quality the hair, the more it happens. And if the hair's quite long (and has been razor-cut) it can happen more quickly, imo.

Good luck! :)

I totally agree about split ends due to razoring. That's why I have several different lengths of hair and install it already layered. Split ends are inevitable with human extensions but it really cuts down on them when you don't razor the hair.

And as to where to find Citre Shine...just go to your local drugstore (Longs, Walgreens, Bartells, Rite-Aid, etc.). They usually have it and it's somewhere around $5 a bottle. And it smells really good. =)
