OK, I'm a freak admittedly, but I'm counting the days till my PlastikHaar install (that's 11, by the way).
Just curious: Has anyone heard from Sara about the blonde shades? I'm totally loving this hair anyway, but I'm just curious about the color situation.
Kalika and Mer: How's it holding up after a day of wear? When are you planning to wash it? Has it changed your life, or what? (I have to live vicariously through y'all for the next 11 days, sorry....)
Forgive me--too much time looking at hair online makes me loopy! :)
I still cant decide what Im going to do. I cant decide what hair to get from where, what color or how Im going to install it. I was eyeing some left over wefts I have laying around the other day and contemplating using my latex glue to put them in, thats how desperate I am...LOL My set back is I have no funds right now to buy anything. I just e-filed our tax return and we're getting back a nice bit of change and my hubby said I could get some hair and supplies with that...isnt he just the sweetest guy ever...in the whole wide world?? yeah he is

LOL I know the feeling Em. I bonded left over wefts in two weeks ago just for temporary until I did some more testing with shrinkies and waiting for my plastikhaar. I couldnt stand the hair that I had in, it was CRAP....so I ended up taking them out 2 days ago and using my prebonded hair from Korea again! I put some shrinkies in for testing too....so thats a step in the direction I want to go next!
Emma, decisions, decisions.... If you want to get good hair for a decent price, I really think PH is probably the way to go. Human hair just isn't affordable, or worth it for the quality available at a decent price, imo.
I think I'm boarding the Plastikhaar train, too. Partly because of tax refund time (yay!). I'm just waiting back on emails from Sara and Rae to figure out what colors. I'm thinking dark brown (kokos or something similar), blood red, and well, the tough part is finding a blonde lighter than platinum or satin. That's what I'm really hoping Sara and Rae can help with. I want off-white...maybe creme weiss.
But for right now, it's fun with human hair wefts.

Jenny I think most of it was hisandhers either their regular bodywave or from the sale/clearance. Some of it was a Beverly Johnson brand and a couple of others. I had lots of left over and small pieces of weft, but not enough of all one brand....and I only wanted a temporary do anyway and didnt want to use up the last of my hair21 hair for a short term extension redo... but I just couldnt stand the hair. I got used to the hair21 hair that is soft and doesnt tangle is shiney and smooth. The crappy weft hair was tangly, rough, dry and dull! YUCK!
Yikes. Just another few brands to add to the crappy-hair category, I guess.
I swear, I really want to go undercover and find out exactly what they're doing with this hair that it's so ****ty by the time it gets to market.... :)
Woo-hoo! With help from Rae, I've now ordered my Plastikhaar. (How long did y'all say it takes to get here?) I got one pack each of mahagoni, blood red, and platinum blonde, all in 50mm wave. I'm not going to worry about what I'm going to do with it until it gets here. =)
Oh geez, I'm glad I got the straight and not the wave, 'cause otherwise we'd have the same hair! Well not exactly- I got Pepperoni instead of Blood Red, and black instead of brown, but we both got light blond as well! That's so funny.
mine is the 50mm blut rot but i feel as though it has no wave, it feels SO STRAIGHT TO ME.. (trying not to complain) but i will be braidiing it everynight so does it matter.
Mer, if you want it even wavier, you can braid it and then dunk it in hot water (if it's already on your head, just turn the bath tap to the hottest and stick your head under the tap). That'll wave it until you wash or heat-style it again.
hairs holding up beautiful after wearing for a couple days. VERY little shedding after through brushings, keeping a nice wave so far, and LOTS of stares when I go out
Leia: I have the same situation, wherein I'm always trying to find hair that's lighter than 613. I ordered the PH Creme Weiss, too, but it's not very "creamy"--it's a true white, really (and Rae tipped me off to all of this beforehand, so props to Rae), so you'll probably want to mix it with one of those light blondes.
Dome has a creamier, more blondish white, which I ordered, as well as a Prolin creamy blend, which I also ordered, but especially the Prolin isn't a very cost effective option. PH vanilla (or platinum or satin) mixed with some white should give you a pretty light result.
That's too funny, Rae. I can just see all of us walking around with our 50mm PlastikHaar in the same colors. It's a good thing we're all basically in separate cities, or people might start to thing we're part of some cult or something.....:)
Jenny, to see the blood red in action, just look at Merguthrie's blonde and red beauty. She used PH blood red. Oh, how I love red red hair!
Hehe...the Plastikhaar cult. That would be too funny. I don't even any people with (noticeable) extensions who aren't African-American. But actually, Rae, didn't you used to live near me? I thought you were the one who told me about the great hole-in-the-wall hair shop in Sunnyvale...though I could just be crazy.
Ha, everyone here is all about the black/brown, dark red, and pale blonde, aren't we? Cult indeed.
And leia- yeah, I used to live in the south bay! And yeah Paris Fashion, the itty-bitty shop- but their selection and the proprietor are awesome.
Mer- yup, since PH is mono kanekalon (hot-water-reactive fiber), even hot water will shape it. Actually, sometimes just braiding it dry (like at night when you go to bed- which you should do anyway) will wave it. I love Dome's Classic texture, but man, if you -don't- want a wave, it's annoying as hell. I steamed the crap out of some baby pink, because I wanted it straight, but it's still slightly wavy.
FYI there was a mistake and mine was ordered blut rot 50 mm wave and i emailed sara a pic and it is really straight so she is going to hook me up (which will make my hair look much nicer) i just don;t know how or when i will be able to get it installed (and for how much or by who or when!!!)
so my red CERTAINLY IS STRAIGHT!!!! (and not supposed to be)
