hi everyone - still typing with one hand - sorry for the mis-spells
i put about 40 shrinkies of the wawa 22" strawberry blonde and just worn a scarf when i had to go out. i am kind of glad that i have not done the whole head. curl falls right out. i followed DOCs lesson with boiling water - before attaching, also with curling wand. -and a few with a clamp system - instant perm or something like that - you wrap dry hair around a plastic U shaped rod and then apply a really hot clamp to it. makes a jerry curl and crimpy curl those curls were the only curl that stayed in pass one very cool shower. the other ones straighten right out. i look really bad with straight hair - love it on other people - but not me. the strands also seem to be getting spilt ends - about three inches - i did not trim them at all. Pre-tipping is a pain with this hair - getstangled really easily - or at least it did with me - seems to be shedding also, but that could be thr fault of the pre-tipper it is still shinny, and maybe with a bit of fabric softener it would be better - i cannot decide if i want to go ahead with my whole head, and be forced to curl it everytime it gets wet or go back to real hair hmmm.... my hair is normally curly and i have been wearing the water wave or deep wave to match it - both seem to get a bit nappy within a few weeks, so i was thinking maybe a looser curl would stop that from happening...shaving my whole head is starting to sound good octavia

Let me make sure I understand this correctly, though: The first time you curled it (I assume before the install), it curled well, then the curl dropped--was that just during the day when you were wearing it, or after you washed it? Then, the hair didn't recurl in the same way?
It's odd--like the hair doesn't have enough "juice" for more than one curling. But I think I remember someone else giving a similar review of another kind of thermofiber.
Have you tried any of the other thermofiber brands or monofiber (PH, Dome, Prostyles)? Just curious as to how you think they compare. :)
lets see, when i first got the, i curled a bit with the clamp system - it is called WAVE RAGE i think conair makes it. great curl. rinsed it with cool water - curl stayed in. then i did the water dip - with bigger rollers - about 3/4" nice big curls, seemed to hold well. attached to my head, along with a few pieces of just the straight hair - planning to curl with a curling iron - as instruced by the package. Curling iron did not work well - mine has a low/high switch, so i have no idea how hot it actually gets hair is too long for my iron to heat all at once, so i had to do it in sections... took cool shower later in the day, and ened up with almost straight hair again - except for the first piece that was curled with the rage clamp. it just looked frizzy with a curl. the next time i was in the shower, took a warmer one, and everything ended up straight - hair doesn't seem to curl up as tight as the first time...maybe you are right - it seems to be losing the ability to hold the curl - could also be user error i think i will end up trying a whole head, maybe taking about 5" off to see if it the weight of it. yhis is my first attempt with synth - had braids a million years ago, but they kept slipping out hubby hated them also - still hates the extensions, but doesn't ***** about them as much! - except for the shedding - but i figure with a house full of mastiffs, we have hair bunnies all over the place! octavia octavia

Oct - AMM posted on the other thread that you need to curl the hair with a curling iron when it's WET. . .did you try that? She said she's been having really great success with the WaWa hair...

I have tried the ebonyline and the freetress thermal fibers and they both curl really well. But the key is to either lightly mist the strand with water or run your wet fingers down the strand prior to curling it. Also you said in your post that you used the wave rage and then you rinsed with cool water. I dont see why you need to rinse the hair with cool water?
I think I remember that you did some experimenting with the curling iron on PlastikHaar, or maybe it was Prostyles. I can't remember if you said it worked or didn't work. Am I remembering this correctly? I can't recall what the verdict was. :)
yes it was on the proystyles. And it did curl with the curling iron (dampened strands) but I didnt like the way the ends of the hair looked after curling. I think if you curled it a few times the ends would be fried. But then again maybe it would smooth out with blowdrying. I didnt try that.
