It's so funny because I looked at that photo several times and never even noticed the heat seals until Rae pointed them out--now, that's tiny!
So, why are heat seals smaller than pinchbraids, beyond just deciding to use less hair? Is there something about the loop/seal itself that makes it smaller? Are the boxbraids themselves allowed to be shorter because the seal gives it extra security? :)

The attachments are smaller, just because they are. It isn't necessarily using LESS hair, just making smaller more abundant connections. It takes longer to do but the end result is fuller and not as "piecey".

Pinchbraids are entire strands of the persons hair and entire strands of added hair. The way I do it, I have synth and the clients hair incorporated into each strand of the braid in even amounts. (I don't do boxbraids) The braids are shorter because there is less hair that has to be braided to make enough turns to make a good connection.
