If this shocking news about Mrs. Pitt is true, then we must mobilize the troops! Our dear friend and excellent contributor to this board, Gord, will be devistated by this news. If anyone manages to talk to Gord before he reads what to him will be tragic news, please tell him that suicide is not an option, and afterall, it is just hair, and it will grow back (except for mine, which keeps falling out!) After all Gord, take heart from Courtney Cox-Arquette, she had the courage to grow out a cute short cut that flattered her face into a long mass of inky black hair that just hung there and did nothing for her!
Thanks to the many posters for their swift action in this urgent matter!
(Just kidding Gord, you know I like to give you a hard time! ;)
I fear this is the beginning of an ugly bob trend started by some unbalanced stylist on poor unsuspecting models. Not a good sign.
By the way, who would have believed a couple of years ago that this season on "Friends", Courtney Cox Arquette would have the longest hair, Lisa Kudrow would be second at shoulder-length, and Jennifer Aniston would be above the shoulder?
Oh, and for what it's worth, I'd be willing to bet, Jennifer cuts it again fairly soon. And it gets shorter. You heard it here first.

I'll take that bet. Courtney prefers hers long and whenever she has cut it in the past it wasn't really her idea (i.e., she was talked into it by her stylist). At this point, she has gone through A LOT to grow it out and get it into a flattering style, which, after several years of awkward stages, she has finally achieved. She may succumb to bob pressure, but I doubt it. And I hope not.
A better may be Lisa Kudrow, though she always grows hers back out after cutting it.

This is very disappointing news. Jennifer had become the poster girl for long hair. The weird thing is that her hair had gotten very long in the past year or so. I'm sure that some of this was extensions, but I think her hair really was getting very long. I'm interested to see if/when the haircut takes place on Friends. I know there had been some speculation that Jennifer would have her long hair cut as a part of the plot and that that explained why she was wearing her hair extra long in the first place.
Also, does anyone know where any pictures of her new style are? When did this cut supposedly happen? I guess Brad Pitt brings the short hair out in girls. Remember how Gwyneth Paltrow cut her hair ultra short while dating Brad?
Cheerio.

Personally, I liked CCA's short styles better than the long one, since the long one seemed dull, lifeless, and pointless. I forget which I liked, but it wasn't the shortest one.
I'm really surprised about JA (JP now? Or no change?). Just because I've seen real-life pics of her which look very different from the show, and while I think she'd look great with short hair made up for the show, I'd question the real-life look, especially since I always thought her hair was naturally curly/wavy and they straighten it for the show. IMO the extensions looked terrible... because I believe everything has limits.
LK, although not my favorite person in the world (but that's not really relevant atm), looks good both in real life and on the show with anything from mid-back all the way up to her chin. I think I like the shorter range a touch better, but I'd say toss-up.
After looking at Jennifer's new haircut on the Entertainment Tonight site, two words come to mind: Damn it.
Jennifer has said that she wanted to be known more for her acting than her hair, which is one of the reasons why she let her old hairdo grow out. In the back of my mind, I always felt her look was too good to be true and wouldn't last. I had the attitude, "enjoy it while it lasts." I'm just stunned it came so close after she got married. Didn't Brad dump Gwyneth (?) Paltrow shortly after she cut her long hair?
As for the photographed new look, it appears someone just took hedge clippers and made a giant slice. Not much style to it. In the photo, it almost looks like the hair could be tied back in a ponytail. I'm sure it will hit me harder when I see her on Friends.
She's still very pretty, so I'm glad she didn't have more cut off.
FYI: I was more bothered when Jennifer posed smoking a cigarette in TV Guide.
Did anyone get to see the ET special last night about Jennifer's haircut? I saw the opening when they were talking about it as one of their stories for the night, but I didn't get to see the actual feature. Did they have video of her actual hair cut? I doubt it, but the preview made it seem like they might. Any thoughts? The only clip I saw you couldn't even tell for sure that it was cut. It looked like she might've just had it pulled back in a ponytail like she wore it for the Emmy's. I can't imagine her hair looking good based on what I saw. It seriously looked as though someone had played a horrible prank and lopped off a bunch of her hair in the back. When did this hair cut happen? There doesn't seem to be a lot of info. on it right now.
I saw the clip on ET. There was no coverage of her getting her hair cut, but they showed film of her with her new style. It was a very short segment.
They did add that her hair will be long for the first few episodes of Friends, since they were filmed before she had her hair cut. Of course, they could just make her wear a wig all the time like they did to Phoebe after she cut her hair. They should spend a little bit of time on writing good scripts and practicing their acting, instead of worrying so much about how things look.
I am not really surprised that Jennifer did the "cut the hair" thing. First of all I read an interview with her pretty recently where she said that the extensions she was sporting over the past 6 months were taking a toll on her naturally wavy/sorta curly hair.
A lot of people assumed that she had naturally grown her hair a lot longer but in reality she had extenions applied for her last movie and so she appeared on the last part of Friends with her super long and straight locks which were actually hair extensions.
I also read that one of the reasons she hated the original "Rachel" was because of the high maintenance of blow drying and straightening to keep her wave/curls under control.
Also, last but not least, as an actress who has gotten probably one of the biggest media attention getting events of the year (she married Brad Pitt) she needs something new to keep her in the spotlight and generating more buzz.
What better way than to cut her hair. After all, that is how Madonna keeps us interested. Her hair changes faster than the weather in many places. :-)
Best wishes, Karen Shelton

Hello, I've been trying to find this picture on this link and the other one mentioned, and I'm at a loss. Can someone leave a more detailed link? Thanks
