Katie C. - revisited

I agree that she looked much better with the short crop. Some people just aren`t meant to have longer hair. Hers does not look good. To me it appears very damaged and I don`t like the long bangs swept to the side look either.

It`s been predicted before, wrongly, but I believe Katie`s long haired days are few in number. I watching the middle of this week and she and Matt were out interviewing people. Katie talked to this couple who were celebrating their 20th or 25th wedding anniversary and they had blown up a big picture of their wedding day.
The lady had past shoulder length blonde hair in the picture. Her hair now was cropped short, almost a pixie cut.

Anyway, Katie talked to them for a few seconds, talked to another couple of groups and then came back to the lady and told her she liked her hair better now. She said something to the affect: I like you better without all that hair getting in the way of your pretty face.

Now that isn`t much, but it made me think that perhaps Katie is getting tired of her shoulder length style hair. I thought there was a half chance that she would show up later in the week with a short cut.

I have been surprised that she kept it long for this length of time. She started growing it out right around a year ago at this time. So it has been chin level or longer for the past 9 or 10 months. And the past 3 months or so it has been grazing her shoulders. I personally like it longer. I think it gives her a different look than the rather tired pixie cut. I doubt she grows it much longer than where it is now, but she may keep it that length for awhile still. Who knows with Katie, normally you could count on her not sticking with any type of longer hair for more than a month or two. All the Katie hair rules have been broken, so who knows.

I hadn`t seen the Today show in awhile ... at least a month... and then I tuned in yesterday morning. Wow. Not only is her hair the longest I`ve seen, it looks really good. One thing that`s a bit puzzling is the multi-colored look, I think the top/front part that`s lighter is too light (should be darker, the same color as the rest). Otherwise.... she`s very attractive with her longer hair!

I had an interesting thought here: for the first time in her 10 year run as a morning anchor person Katie now unquestionably has the longest hair of any of the 3 regular female anchors on the morning shows. Paula Zahn had that honor for years and more recently that title has alternated between Jane Clayson and Dianne Sawyer. But in the past few months Katie has passed them both rather easily. Dianne`s wearing her hair shorter than normal and Jane`s hair hasn`t gotten close to her shoulders recently.

I`m thinking, her hair is getting a bit long. I think it`s a bit ratty looking or something now. Maybe if she got an inch or so off. However, I think the grey look is gone....

I think she is going through some difficult times. Lost husband, age, kids etc. Maybe she is tired of being "perky". I met her in Saudi and thought then she was "perky" and of course cute. Who knows, Playboy may not be far behind!!!

A note to Katie`s stylist: Keep it long, but don`t try to tie it back. If anyone saw Katie this morning, her hair was tied back, I`m sure, to keep it from flopping in her face during her visit to Oklahoma for the McVeigh stuff. But at least I liked the idea that her hair is long enough to be tied back : )

To further add to Gord`s notation of one probable reason she had her hair tied back... is that it may have been done also to give her a harder look more appropo for the brutally-harsh topic of the day.
