I was really pleased to hear that you changed your mind and decided to grow your hair longer rather than cutting it. I have no doubt that you will look fantastic with your hair longer and with the new colour. I am also from Australia and if you`d like to email me and have someone to chat with about growing your hair out, etc, please do so, as I will offer you any support that you need for your hair growing adventures.
Best Wishes,
John

I didn`t get my hair cut short, I am actually growing it!
I decided I didn`t want the short hair (I am about 178cm tall, short hair cuts make me look taller and strange) and I remembered my longer hair days...ahhh. =)
To make my hair different, and very different, I dyed it a dark brown colour with bright red (like a solid cordial colour) highlights. The red turned out kinda pink, but looks awesome!!! I really love it, but I come from a fairly small city, so people aren`t that understanding and tend to give me strange looks, even if they are complimentary a lot of the time. I can`t stand the attention!!
So soonish I am going to dye my hair the full brown colour (it`s sooo gorgeous! Never had found a brown I like until now) and then dye it with a cap of highlights and then put a rinse over that of a coppery colour. It should look pretty good and not so unnatural as now!!
BUT, I am SOOO happy with the result I have now. It enables me to feel my age again and now some boring old housewife. Yay! So I got the result I wanted, and I even bought some new clothes to celebrate.
Thank you for some great advice. Hair is super scary to play with, but the feeling you get from changing your appearance can be fantastic!
Bye! Kim

Thank you all for your advice. I still think that I am going to get my haircut like that. I am 20, and I think my hair is boring, and I am dying for a change.
If anyone has any other suggestions for a good cut, please let me know.
Thanks again, Kim

My wife just got hers cut like that. She has fine hair but it is thick. She has no problems with it flicking out - it is in the cut - if you go to a good stylist, I think you will have no problems if you have the right hair type - a good stylist will know. Good Luck.

I would be very careful about getting a haircut like that (see the post about Mary Kate and Ashley). Any time you see her, her hair has been done by a professional. I think that cut would be real hard to keep flicked out like that. Also, your hair needs to be kind of fine and thin.
