Thank you Durango & Jimbo for your words of support.
We are definitely keeping this board open as long as there is a HairBoutique.com. Hopefully there will a HairBoutique.com for many years to come. :-)
Yes, I also always enjoyed the JF columns. Since I often had the pleasure of putting them on the site with Jeff I would be laughing as I worked on getting those JF words into FrontPage. He wit was amazing. He will be missed.
Hopefully he will return some day.
Best wishes, Karen

Karen, I wanted to email you but wasn`t sure how. I read the article by the new guy. It was very funny & he does write well. (I was recently in hysterics over Jan Crouch`s hair also...although, I thought she actually was Tammy Faye! shows what I now about televangelism!) Anyway, I`m sure his review of the MTV awards will be well done.

Hi AggiePam,
You are a doll. Thanks so much for the nice words.
TA read the "the new guy sucks" post and so he is now tellimg me that he doesn`t even want to try his hand at a celebrity column since he feels he won`t please anyone who is a dire hard JF fan, even though it was JF`s decision not to do columns.
I will make sure he reads your nice post. Maybe it will change his mind about not wanting to do a MTV award column. Although I suspect not.
Maybe we should just forget about even trying to do a new column and if JF comes back some day...kewl...and if not...oh well.
Thanks again. You made my day. :-)

Okay before I become the killjoy, let me clarify my viewpoint. The only point was that `TA` was not writing about anything which had been previously written about on the board. A good journalist should write for his (or her) readers and not for himself (or herself). However, since Karen has assured me that he will be doing this in the future. I have problem with him. That`s all. I did not mean to ruin the board for everyone.

Dear Stu,
Thanks for the clarification.
Jeff and I talked to TA about this today at lunch. As I pointed out, he had written the "Does God Have A Comb-over" before we knew that JF was on an extended leave and he wrote the piece specifically after he gave me an outline and I thought it was interesting. After all, I personally used to tune in to Tammy Faye just to see her makeup & hair. So I am one of those people who find TV evangilistic hair fascinating.
No question, TA`s article was not written for people on this board but in general for HB.com. You are right about that. But at the time, it was not his audience. Just general HB.com visitors was his target audience.
He also wrote a somewhat humourous article about Philou Banana shampoo even before the God Combover gig and that was also not designed for this board. It was designed for the "general HB" readers. Since we average as many as 50,000 viewers a day on some high traffic days, there are lots of people who don`t care about celebrities but like the lighter stuff.
TA expressed concern that he might not be able to live up to JF after your response and was wondering if we should just abandon the idea of him doing a celebrity hair column and have him work on some other ideas that we had in the works.
Jeff and I asked him to take a deep breath and please write about the MTV awards. If his column on that was still not well received, we promised that we would not ask him to walk the celebrity hair beat again and he could write about other stuff not related to this board or topics.
So as we speak, TA is writing about the MTV awards. He asked me if he could title it....Best of Breast Awards.....but I told him to please tone that down a little (we do need to maintain our G rating) although he was ranting about some of the dresses. I think Christina Aquillera will be worse for the column since he was also ranting about her hair for about 10 minutes. :-)
TA promised to have his MTV piece done by the end of this week. The key to publishing it is getting the photo permissions we need. Once we have that, we will publish it and see how it is received.
Best wishes, Karen

I believe I already said this to you but I will repeat. I find all the topics from writers that decides to wright something for your web site very interesting and even yourself you certainly have a talent. JF taught my eyes a few times with his writing but TA had me laughing. Karen I find that you have a good head on your shoulders and know what is best and go after it. If TA refuses than I am sure that you will come up with another good plan.
ON the other hand I do have something to say to Stu. We have a saying over here in our part of the world. It goes like this. When one knocks down someone that person must be prepare to take charge and come up with a plan of themselves. You should have more faith in Karen and in Jeff. Look at all the articles that have be posted like about brushes etc. All of those articles are very informative and at times with a twist of humor. So what if TA doesn`t come close to JF style. Who cares! TA will certainly add richness around here with his own style of writing. He certainly has my vote.

Gosh, how melodramatic. From the number of people who participate in this Celebrity Hair Talk space, it`s obvious something you have to keep going, with or without a columnist. I`ll miss Jerky Flea`s contributions, for sure, and hope that if you choose someone on a regular basis that they contribute plenty of PHOTOGRAPHS of WOMEN and their HAIR on a regular basis.

Thanks Gord. I think you got the jist of what I was going for you. I`m glad you did not choose to crufiy me like everyone else. Now maybe we can finally get back to talking about celebrity hair instead of villifying me. Afterall it`s meant for discussion about phoney hollywood types and their hair. Not me and my opinions.

Stu,
Crucify you? Huh? I think if you are going to be willing to blast your opinion that someone "sucks" you should know that people are going to respond in kind with their opinion about your opinion.
You know what they say...if you are going to dish it out, be prepared to take it.
Especially on a messageboard format and especially on the Net.
