She grew it long because you can hide more merchandise under long hair than short hair. (sorry, couldn`t resist)

I`m sorry to hear she`s in trouble. However, I think her longer hair looks good. IMHO, she was due for a change, and she`s still one of the prettier actresses in Hollywood.
