I am an avid (some say rabid) figure skating fan, and last night I was on Cloud 9 when I went to see Stars on Ice. We had great seats and it was AMAZING. For those of you who follow skating, here are some interesting (I guess) notes on skaters' hair and the like....
Jamie Sale (partner is David Pelletier, Canadians who won gold in Salt Lake) is apparently letting her hair grow, as it's well past her shoulders.
Kurt Browning, a remarkable entertainer who hugged anyone near enough, is filling Scotty Hamilton's enormous shoes (I mean that figuratively, since Scotty is a short little guy.) He's gone with the nearly no-hair look and is a riot to watch on the ice.
Alexei Yagudin still has the same hair going on but I have to mention him because he is an incredible skater (my favorite!) and is quite nice to look at too.
Elena Beryznaya (sp?) from Russia (partner is Anton Sikliliza, they also won Olympic Gold last year) had her hair very curly.
It was a GREAT show for skating fans (and I only saw maybe 10 men in the entire arena--and 7 of them were on the ice.) If anyone watched the cowboy act they did in the broadcast show a few months ago.....let me just say it caused papitations in every female present :-)

I love figure skating too. I saw the Champions on Ice show a few years ago when I was visiting relatives in Los Angeles. There were plenty of men there when I was there. Mostly fathers or uncles with their daughters or neices, or guys with their wives or girlfriends.
The world championships are coming up soon too, I think this week. Michelle Kwan, Sarah Hughes and Sasha Cohen, the three great U.S. women skaters are, of course, amongst the favorites.
I think ESPN is going to show it. Maybe ABC as well.

Ohhh...I'm glad there are other skater fans out there in hair talk land! Yes the worlds ought to be exciting this year--I'll be watching right along with you Lady Maria. Who did you see in Champions and how did you like it? It was the coolest feeling last night to think, "Wow, that's Todd Eldridge and he's skating in front of me!" I'm buying advance tickets for next year, it was that good. Tara Lipinski wasn't there (I think she's out for the rest of the tour) but I wasn't too hurt by that. I skate in Kalamazoo and have a friend (not bad-placed 5th in junior nationals) who has shared the ice with her and felt unwelcome. But anyway.
I will look for Sarah's different hair at the upcoming competition. My only regret is that my dear Alexei isn't competing (I think.) Sigh.....

I am so glad someone mentioned Jamie Salei's hair on this board. She really does have a beautiful head of hair. Too bad figure skating forces her to wear it back so often.
Absolutely right Layers--Jamie does have great hair. She wore the front half pulled back Saturday but the rest down. They are such a couple pair and I hope they're with the tour next year!

Oh, and I did just find another tidbit that can tie this thread to hair (however loosely.) Alexei dyes his blond. Whatever color it is he's still amazing!
