Love, love, love the Gwen Stefani. Clueless, clueless, clueless about what she is doing with her hair. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what this looks like down?

I have no clue. Interesting thing is that she has been tapped to portray Jean Harlow in the upcoming Scorsese Howard Hughes bio flick. Don't think this 'do with quite work, so she may end up with a wig even though she is always platinum like the late Ms. Harlow. Oh the irony.

Anyway, if she can act (let's hope), Gwenny is a great choice to portray Jean.

Let's just hope they don't make her shave off her eyebrows and draw them back in, even though that's how Jean wore them.

P.S. Interesting quote from the official Jean Harlow website (www.jeanharlow.com): "Jean displayed talent in both her sensual and comedic performances, but she initially captivated fans with her platinum blonde hair. As she gained fame, peroxide sales in the United States skyrocketed. Botched attempts to look like Jean forced thousands of women to shave their heads. Hollywood producers of the past had consistently cast dark-haired women to play the parts of vixens, but Jean emerged as the first star to incorporate the platinum blonde look into her acting."

It's a mullet, JF

It's actually not too bad looking down, but still, a mullet. There's actually an article somewhere saying that the shag mullet was the new thing.

Shudder.

Examples were Gwen, Halle Berry, and possibly Scarlett Johanssen(She one of those actors I have a hard time distinguishing from several others)

I wouldn't call Halle's a mullet, but Gwen's and especially Scarlett's definitely are. Scarlett's looks horrible. She have done better to shave it.

Not a joke.

I think this mullet is quite possibly Gwen minus the extensions she has been wearing for several years. Her hair looks extremely damaged to me so maybe she'll go for a shorter look soon. This one is not good, mainly due to the damage.

A sha-mullet? That IS a disturbing trend. Well, from the looks of it, it appears that any stylist could create whatever hack job they wanted to and it would fall in this category. I guess the advantage is that you can't mess up when cutting it.

Native - I saw the SAME article and thought that it had to be tabloid....no way could it be true. But you know, there are plenty of sheep out there that wil run as fast as they can to the nearest salon and ask for it, just becasue it has been "said" in a magazine that it is the new thing.

Gwen has been wearing this for awhile now, and I think you're right demodoll, it was the result of extensions being removed. I sure hope people don't follow through with this trend. It was, is an always will be the most irritating hairstyle in the world.
