You sound like two little kids with your bickering.
One likes short hair on women the other long hair on women. So why the silly argument? You guys are like little kids. There isn't a better hairstyle, just your own like or dislike.
Short hair is not for every woman because the fact is you really can see the woman's features more than with long hair, including her ears and head shape, ...so she better look good with short hair otherwise she should wear fairly long hair.
It seems my point is still not understood. Why is (almost) everybody filtering my message through my avowed preference for long hair?
The issue is not about whether she looks better or worse with short hair. The issue is not about whether she wanted the short haircut. The issue is about the politicized statements contained within the text of the Instyle article. Go back and re-read it, and read my post from 28-Dec-2003 @ 5:42:45 PM. I am criticizing the use (by the stylist/editor) of referenced statements (ex: "... lifts cheekbones...").

I really don't give a rip about Alyssa Milano one way or another, but she sure looked better with long hair. I figure if there are 20-some entries on this Hair Talk topic, I might as well be one of them. : )

Gotta side with Gord on this one. I guess she looks better with short hair, but I really couldn't care less either way. AM will always be a trampy, second tier, significant only to Maxim readers sort of celebrity. So what.
Alyssa not only looks wonderful but I have seen her interviewed and she has a delightful personality. No she isn't at this point a "serious" actress per se, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have talent, and she's certainly not a tramp. She makes the show Charmed.
The world is just going to end in nuclear winter, go back to sleep little muffins.
I can't pretend to understand the point of the above poster but this thread shows me a lot about how people think.
We all have our preferences and since this is a hair forum, I think it is safe to say that our preferences regarding hair are particularly strong here. Are we so unimaginative that it is inconceivable that others preferences are not the same as our own that we have to make ridiculous statements like "she looked better with ...." as if our opinions are some sort of universal truth?
If we can't even imagine what it would be like to have a hair preference different from our own then it seems pretty hopeless to try to even imagine a world where a straight person could even comprehend what it is like to be gay, a Christian understanding a muslim, a man understanding a woman etc.. In Nairobi it is normal for a woman to shave her head and in Scotalnd it is traditional for men to wear kilts. We aren't all the same.
Thanks. I'll go get my Midol now.
Peace Bronnie

Maybe it's my hangover talking, but I think your points deserve a couple counterpoints.
Bronnie: We all have our preferences and since this is a hair forum, I think it is safe to say that our preferences regarding hair are particularly strong here. Are we so unimaginative that it is inconceivable that others preferences are not the same as our own that we have to make ridiculous statements like "she looked better with ...." as if our opinions are some sort of universal truth?
Gord: Midway through your first sentence, you say "I think it is safe to say..." and then you conclude it with "as if our opnions are some sort of universal truth." Unless you're bright enough to be redundant on purpose, you just totally contradicted yourself. The point of forums is to give OPINIONS. Statements such as "she looked better with" are not "ridiculous," as you claim. When I state that Alyssa Milano looked better with long hair, that is my opinion. As for the use of imagination, would you prefer I say Alyssa looks better with auburn bra-strap length crimped hair parted on the side?
Bronnie: If we can't even imagine what it would be like to have a hair preference different from our own then it seems pretty hopeless to try to even imagine a world where a straight person could even comprehend what it is like to be gay, a Christian understanding a muslim, a man understanding a woman etc.. In Nairobi it is normal for a woman to shave her head and in Scotalnd it is traditional for men to wear kilts. We aren't all the same.
Gord: If the Nairobi woman is a celebrity, chances are I'd prefer her with long hair as opposed to shaven. If she's not a celebrity, we have no business discussing her on this forum.
Bronnie: Peace Bronnie
Gord: You criticize the opnions of others and then finish with "peace?" At least say it like you mean it.
You know Gord some times you can be very funny. I even laugh when you put my post down some times. You should be a comedien not working at a car wash. Your right that this board is based on our personal opinions, and Bronnie was right two in the fact that we believe so much in our personal preferances that we can't see anying else. I love shorthair and think almost everyone looks great in short hair, You love long hair and think almost every one looks best with long hair, If a celeb cuts her hair you act as if she commited a crime, in Celion Dions case she should be locked up for that horrible hair cut and style. If a celeb who had short hair grows it out I get upset and think she is stupid for growing her hair out even when she may look very sexy with long hair. So you see thats what Bronnie was saying I think. But if we didn't think that way wiould we still come to this board and complain when a celeb did some thing we didn't like or boast when a celeb had a good hair day?
As for Alyssa, she is a very sexy small woman with the perfect face for any style, lenght, cut, or color. As far as being a tramp, well as first I don't hear much about her sex life in the news and second if you looked as good as her would you not use it to your advantage to get what you want or to have fun. Alyssa is a sweet person and a good actress and she gives back to the community by vollunteering at shelters and for other charitable causes. She looked very sexy with long hair, medium lenght, and short hair, as a blonde , burnett, red head, and even with black hair, although it was not a good color for her to wear to often it was just to dark. She is one of the few that can pull off any style well. And now I will copy after Gord and say HAPPY NEW YEAR every one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad she's keeping her hair short but I actually liked the pixie style on her a little better, although I would like to see a few more photos of her in her new 'do.
