I read somewhere that Kirsten Dunst had a haircutting scene in the movie The Devil's Arithmetic due to holocaust. Has anyone seen this movie? Is the scene any good?
I am personally interested in the movie, not just the haircutting seen. But I have no idea where to get a hold of this movie since it is not a 'blockbuster' movie.

The Devil's Arithmetic was, I believe, and HBO production. I remember watching the movie, but no real haircutting was shown. Although her performance is very good, if you are looking to see Kirsten in short hair, don't bother, her head is covered by a scarf most of the time...

there seems to be a haircutting scene in this movie and it seems to be a dramatic one as all these poor girls got their heads shaven, but it should nevertheless be a scene to remember this movie by.
I think i think it's really wrong for anyone to see this movie to get perosnal peasure or for those who like headshaved woman due to the back drop and content of why there heads where shaved.

I agree, it's wrong for people to get off on haircutting scenes in holocaust movies. It's probably better, for people who know they have such fetishes, to either avoid such movies, or try to make themselves see it in a purely historical context. It wasn't meant to make the women more beautiful, but to humiliate and dehumanize them. Maybe just try to put yourself into the shoes of the people it really happened to, and maybe it can help you understand.
I totally agree. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that scene is all I wanna watch. I am just saying that is a scene to remember this movie (and the whole holocaust incident) of and since it is meant to be a sad movie, it is a dramatic scene I would think. I guess this is not the place to post this message but I saw some previous posts about dramatic scenes of hair makeover and I would like to know more information about this movie. Sorry for any disturbance.
The Devils Arithmetic is a very sad movie, very well written and Kirsten plays the role well. Its about a young Jewish girl who has no intrest in learning about her past. She walks out her front dooor and is now in the past just before the Germans invade the town, she is picked up by the Germans and taken to a concertration camp where they show lots of woman getting there hair cut off. The hair cutting scene with Kirsten is small and its a wig, which is to bad she looked hot with her hair cut off, as some one else said she wears a scraf most of the movie so you don't see much of her hair gone. I would rent it again, maybe every one should at least once.
