For PETE'S SAKE!!!!!

She cuts her hair, everyone hates it, she grows it out, everyone hates it.....

Can't the woman try something new? I think she look great, the only look I didn't like was the uber long look, because it looked scraggley, and she seemed to hide her face behind her hair.

Since she has cut her hair, she is clearly more confident (maybe getting engaged had something to do with that....), and her beauty is shining through more.

Is it me, or is that not the best length (chin) and style (straight) for someone with a long face shape?

Wish she'd kept it short...

no.. chin length is a good length for her, since it tends to make her face look a tiny bit rounder, though you're right, more volume would definitely help. the long straight hair is really bad for someone with a long straight face like her.

she would look good if she kept it around this length but added some bangs or something. low key, easy to style, but still flattering to her face shape.

Isnt it ironic?
dont you think?
a little too ironic.
Yeah I really do think.
It's like getting complaints no matter what length your hair is.
It's like Alanis and Anthony Keidis being mistaken.
It's a green light when your already there.

Anyone that does not like this look on Alanis, doesn't like how Alanis looks with long hair, they only like her long hair. This face dragging look is just how she looked with long hair!

Please don't speak for me. Alanis was an icon for longhair lovers, although even then she had bad hair days, like when it looked greasy. Just because I liked Alanis with long hair doesn't mean I have to like her with shoulder-length hair.

Hal, she was the ultimate diva with long hair! I loved both her hair, AND the way Alanis looked with it. This new style is a big improvement over all the other shorties and shags she's had, but it doesn't compare with the glorious past. (lol) Bob

Bob,

I've heard Alanis called a lot of things, but DIVA was never one of them. Calling her a diva lumps her in with the likes of Brittney Spears and Christina Aguilerra. I'm sure she never considered herself a diva, quite the contrary.

I don't remember anyone mentioning that it was originally cut on the music video for the song "Everything." I saw pictures of it on the German site http://www.haarigeseite.de/hs/ under musikvideo.

Every time I see a new post under the name "Alanis," I'm hoping to read, "Alanis Morrisette just said 'Cutting my hair was the worst decision of my life. I'm such an idiot. I plan to grow it longer than ever.'" Alas, I'm still waiting.

Kramer:
Alanis is hardly an idiot, she is a very intelligent and talented young lady.
Many of us apparently disagree with your assessment of Alanis with her new attractive short hairdo.

I've come to suspect that Kramer is a mildly sophisicated 'bot, programmed to spout some variation of 'I liked her better in long hair' in every thread.

I like what I like, Bubba. Not only did I like her better in long hair, I can't stand her haircut. Got it?

The woman was an icon to longhair lovers like myself. What do you expect? That I'm going to change my likes and dislikes just to suit others?

Her hair wasn't ordinary. It was extraordinary!

That's just it. She went from having extraodinary hair to a hairstyle that is very ordinary.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

Whoa....looks like the long hair nuts are out in force this morning....

She looks great either way. Of course, I like it short, but I thought she was pretty before too.

My two cents.
