Oh i wish i had gotten to you in time before you decided to cut your hair! Depending on how much breakage you had, you may have only needed to cut a few inches off or get layers to hide the breakage or add more definition while your hair grew back. But i guess it`s still better to get it all cut at once so it will grow back thicker. Dont worry- you`re hair will actually grow back really fast because the same thing happened to me. The back of my head was shaved last year and the sides up above my ears and now my hair is shoulder length. Also try to stay away from chemicals until your hair reaches a long enough length. Because if you relax at 2 inches and then it grows 1 inch then you`ll be overlapping everything you relax after this. When i had my short hair i was so tempted to just put the relaxer on my entire head each time i did it but i didnt want my hair to fall out again to i had to use extra caution.
Okay onto real wigs. Well I live in the city and there`s like a million wigs shops! They range from as cheap as 7.00- 50.00 but this is based on hair quality and style. My mom had a wig magazine and even when I loved my own hair I wanted one! They look so real!!! They have ones that blend in with your own texture and its absolutly foolproof. Im trying so hard to think of the name of that mag, because you`ll get only the best quality when you order from them and they are really cheap! They have them like 20.00 for human hair wigs! You can wash them and everything. I`ll post when i get the name of that magazine.
I checked so many websites and found nothing. I`ve been using anti-breakage products to no avail so I cut my hair to about 1-2 inches from the scalp. Now my natural, chemically untouched, curly hair will grow (slowly I`m sure) on it`s own the way that it should. I really didn`t know what else to do. It doesn`t look good but not horrible either so for the mean time till I get used to it, I guess I`ll be wearing bandanas. Any ideas on how real wigs look and what they cost?
I have curly hair and had it relaxed 1 too many times and now it`s breaking off about half an inch from the scalp. I feel like cutting it all off. What should I do? Do wigs work? How long does curly hair to grow back and does anything work to make it grow faster?
Now this is a true nightmare peoplez! My mom had always used to perm my hair when i was little, so I kind of always got used to her doing it. Well, when I was 17 (last year), I decided to start doing my own. Motions hair relaxer was what worked best on my hair- but unfortunately I didnt get all the spots in my head. So I asked a girlfriend from school if it was okay for me to just perm the spots I missed, even though this girl was no hair dresser! As a matter of fact her hair was extremely damaged but at the time I wasnt thinking. So I went to Walmart and bought a 5.00 home perm kit and re-permed my hair way too soon. My hair didnt break off immediately but within the next 4 days with every brush or comb I put through my hair- out came long strands of my hair. I`d run my hands through my hair and feel the extra fine and delacate pieces slowly breaking off. The sink was full of hair- as was the floor, toilet, and even my pillows. I wasnt losing hair from my scalp, but eventually my hair was uneven and I had to resort to getting a mushroom- type hair cut. Actually the cut did wonders for my hair because it`s grown back in a beautiful texture and it`s much more thicker and plus its in layers so if my hair decides to break again then it`ll just look like the style LOL! But as far as perms go- I learned not to do them so often and to get it right the first time. But if you`re in doubt- please see a stylist! And also- stay away from those bargain relaxers!
