ugh. I had my hair professionally colored last week with redken shades eq, 1/4 roxy red and 3/4 dk orchid. (my natural color is a med brown) The result: my hair is nearly black. Before this hair fiasco I had red highlights and brown hair. I have tried Neutrogena shampoo and washing repeatedly, now my hair just looks dark + dull.

I am thinking of going to a hair salon that specializes in corrective color and getting it massively highlighted, possible cutting 2-3 inches off in the process. I don`t think my hair would stand "uncolor" or effasol right now...Modulat might work but I don`t knowwho uses that in my area. I live in San Francisco if anyone knows of any miracle workers here.

Shades EQ should not have gone black on your natural hair unless of course you had previously lightened your hair?? I don`t know if you`re familiar with this product at all, but, another factor may have been that they did not apply it fast enough...you must be almost lighning fast with this one, no time for neatness! You will be relieved to know that this is not a permenant color, so hang in there girl, it will fade and hopefully have some nice red shades in it. I hope it works out for you, we`ve all been there, and it ain`t much fun!!

Well a few years ago I had a problem
with shades too. I have light brown
natural medium length hair. I wanted
a deeper brown with red highlights.
Well it turned out bright red.
I should have waited because now
I understand that shades is temporary.
I went back to the salon. He stripped
my hair leaving it so dried up and
it died one day. I had to cut it
short and start over again. Good luck
ps that was 3 years ago and I still
have red in my hair.
