I felt compelled to tell my story of a horrible perm experience. I hope this will shed some light on all of the ladies who want to experiment with a perm as I did. Two days ago I had a spiral perm done at a very upscale salon in my area. I asked for a spiral perm and came out with my hair in a horrible mess. There was no curl..Just major frizz and horrible knots. Later that night I realized that my hair was breaking off one by one. I was mortified. I cried and cried. It was the worst thing I had ever seen. So, I called the stylist the next day and asked what I should do next. She told me to come back. That re- perming it would help. I follwed her advice and returned the next day. It ended up coming out worse than the first time. I was a wreck. I once again came home and cried. My hair was ruined. But, this time I was angry. So, I called the salon and demanded my money back. They refused and told me that my hair was damaged from the beginning. I ended up raising my voice and leaving with no refund. But, I am going to call my lawyer and take care of that. Anyway, to make a lond story short, I had to cut my hair very short to help stop the breakage. The stylist that cut it said it was the worst perm she had ever seen. She even took a picture and wrapped my damaged hair in foil so that I can prove myself in court. I like my new hair and will NEVER perm again. Trust me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tammy

I can really relate. I HAD nice long hair (to the middle of my back) and I wanted some more body to it so I too went to an upscale salon and spent $100 to RUIN my hair. There was no curl after a day and months later it looks HORRIBLE and I had to cut it to my chin (it was terribly broken) I wrote a letter to them to tell the how badly they damaged my hair. The never replied. I feel guilty on top of it all because my husband begged me not to perm it. He was right of course and now I am back to the long journey of trying to grow out my hair again. I hope your hair will recover from the trama. Best wishes!
