Fixing an uneven dye job

I dyed my hair at home last week and it seems as though I missed a few spots. My hair is dark brown and I dyed it red. I have a lot of hair and I guess one box wasn't enough because there are spots that are still brown. Has anyone else had this happen? What should I do? Buy another box and dye the spots that I missed, or buy two boxes and just do my whole head over again?

That happens to my mom all the time, just buy the same color, maybe two boxes, and cover your hair with it again.
