Hi All, Well I guess I entered this site to late. I have become a victim of Pantene Pro-V. I could not figure out why my hair was breaking and thinning. I tried to ignore it for a little while thinking that there was a problem with me but than it dawned on me that the only thing different I was doing to my hair was using the Pantene system; shampoo, conditioner, hair sheen, moiturizing hair lotion, the WORKS. Well, after seeing mounds of my hair on our light bedroom floor and my vacuum cleaner brush stalled by the hair wrapped around it, I finally realize it was the Pantene. Needless to say I, my heart sank and I am discontinuing the use of all Pantene products. I word from the wise should be sufficient.
Sounds like your hair is not a fan of silicones. Pantene is loaded with them, and they're good for some hair types and bad for others. Also, the layering of leave-in products (rinse-out conditioner included) can cause product buildup that leads to brittleness and breakage if a person doesn't use a clarifier.
If my hunch is correct, you'll want to also avoid L'Oreal, Garnier, and Infusium which also have cones.
I believe cone-free conditioners include Aussie, the Suave Naturals line, The 79-cent V05 varieties, Aubrey Organics, Biolage conditioning balm, White Rain Extra Body.
