I have read a lot about what you are talking about. Curly-haired women often lose their curl during or after being pregnant. Since the pill simulates pregnancy for the body, curly hair could possibly be affected. And what the hell is with people telling you that you shouldn`t believe all that you read and crap--that`s obvious... jesus--we`re not 10 year olds here.
I`ve been on the pill for about 5 years and my actually is alot less curly than it was. I didn`t know it was from the pill, it could be from something else. the pill has many other side effects than just on your hair, Be careful -Coll

Hello! I have been on the pill for almost a year and I have curly hair. My hair is permed, and it has not affected my hair in any way. If anything, it`s help my hair keep the curl better. It`s great. I used to hate my hair, but now I love it...I just need some updo hair ideas for prom...it`s in 6 days!! AHH!!! lol, anyways, that`s off the subject! Hope I`ve helped somehow!
I can tell you that I have very, very, naturally curly hair and have been on the pill for the last 5-6 years and it hasn`t made a bit of difference! Sorry!!!!!
I`ve been on the pill for 2 & 1/2 yrs, and no change as far as my hair goes - BUT I`m on the weakest form of it (the kind I get is prescribed according to your weight); maybe the stronger kinds affect hair. Where did you hear all that (about straightening hair)?
I`ve been on the pill for about a year ad have not noticed anything about my hair. Honestly, I`ve never even heard of that so you may want to check your resources and don`t believe everything you read on the internet. Your best bet is to talk to your doctor or a nurse. You will notice substatian differences in other areas but, as far as my hair goes...its still long, its the same thickness and its just as curly.
I could really use some input for a major hair question that I have. I was reading in several different magazines that the birth pill actually can make curly hair much straighter. I have super curly hair and I am really sick of messing with it. I have been thinking about going on the pill for my hair and also some other reasons. I am really trying to gather as much info as possible about the effects it might have on my hair for both the long term and the short term. I would appreciate any responses or help that people might be able to give if they have experienced any changes.
Can you tell me if the pill will slow down hair growth or make my hair fall out more, neither, both? I actually read that is will make your hair much thicker since being on the pill is a lot like being pregnant and in many respects it may make your body think its already pregnant. So your hair may grow faster.
Does anyone know if any of this is truth or just old wives tales? I would love to know before I make this big step.
