QuoteReplyTopic: losing my curls??! Posted: February 06 2002 at 3:40am
Hi,
I used to have beautiful natural long tight ringlets, but since I suffered from some hair loss 3 1/2 years ago, my hair has become a lot less curly - it#s more wavy now! My hair is naturally very fine and quite thin, it just billows up when dry because of the natural curl - I`ve tried almost every product going for curly hair to try to refresh them, with no success - although I notice that the hair itself just doesn`t create the ringlets it used to. I`ve also cut my hair a lot shorter to not weigh it down. Otherwise my hair is very healthy since it has grown back, shiny, no split ends or anything - it#s just wavy instead of curly!.. which really upsets me actually - I don`t feel like me at all. I don`t really want to get a perm, as like I said my hair is actually quite thin and fine and I can`t afford for it to go wrong. Does anyone know of a way to get my curls back?? or at least know how this happened?
worried and rather desperate,
Siobhan

Hi - well my hair didn`t turn wavy through my wanting it to - it just sort of happened after the hair loss when it grew back. You can take the curl out of your hair by doing the following though:
Use a silicon shampoo - like pantene for straight hair or a straightening hair milk, and use a good rich conditioner (your hair will become nice and shiny this way) brush your hair out while it`s drying or use a blowdryer, without a diffusor - don`t scrunch or anything, just comb or brush your hair while it`s drying. Unless you`ve got really resistent curls that should work. Don`t use anything harsh or chemical on your hair. If you have longer hair, you can plait it or bind it back to keep it straight while drying.
