what`s the easiest way to get spiral curls without getting a perm?

I have had very good luck using the Sassy Curler:

A coworker uses the Spriralizer with good results too:

A good friend uses the Heatcap to create spiral curls that last about two days. I like this product and have always gotten very good results with it.
