QuoteReplyTopic: Chemically Straightening my Hair Posted: July 26 2003 at 2:20pm
Okay Here It Goes,
Last month I got my hair permed. The second it wuz done perming I didn't like it. I usually blow dry my hair straight or use a flat iron. And it looks fantastic! So I wanna straighten it permanatley. I'm a very impatient person so I don't wanna wait 'till it grows out straight. Someone tell me the whole process of chemically straightening my hair and how they do it and the results. Will it completely fry me hair? I live in calgary alberta so anyone know a good place 2 go 2 get it done? Thanx for reading hope u can help!!

If you have a curly perm, youu can't relax over that. Your hair will fall out! But you can take the perm liquid and comb it though w/out the rollers. I have seen people who did this who look great. Their hair is smooth and shiny. Check w/ your stylist.

i got my hair permed, and it was half straight, the hair stylist was garbage. i was going to redo my perm a month later; but it turns out if i put any new chemicals on top of that within half a year, my hair will all fall out. so if you put on any chemicals, for straighteni, u will have no hair left!. im tryin to take out my curls now as well; do this: take henna (mendhi) powder, mix in some yogurt, and olive oil. put on your head for 2 hours, and wash out. do this every 2 weeks , and soon your hair will be straight, and all the damage the perm did to your hair; will be completely restored
I didn't end up doing the reverse perm because my hair dresser said it would totally fry my hair. So I ended up cutting my hair just above my shoulders and now it's completley straight. I've heard good things about the reverse perm on this board but none of my stylists agree with it so I'm not completley sure if it actually works. But if u decide 2 do it, I wish u good luck!
