Hey there everyone, Ive always had naturally wavy hair but Ive always spent hours straightening it in the morning and Ive never really worn it curly. As I get older, the front seems to get curlier and curlier but the back is staying wavy. I want to find an easy, quick hairstyle that will keep my hair "natural" but I have no idea what to do with it!! Also, it is somewhat dry and can get poofy....does anyone have something that I may be able to try?? (product, spiral perm, anything) thanks so much!!!!

Try the Curly Girl (CG) routine! Even a modified version would do wonders for you. Your hair sounds so much like mine, the front is so curly but the back is less so.
Basically, on the CG routine you cut out all traditional shampoos and use a conditioner rich in emollients, oils and lacking in drying alcohol and 'cones that cause build-up. Suave Citrus Smoothie is a commonly used "wash" conditioner and if your hair is particularly dry, a seperate conditioner like Suave Humectant is used to condition the length. Personally, i use a scalp cleanser called "No 'Poo" by Devacurl. Any products you use have to contain no 'cones (they cause build-up) and no drying alcohols. I use only one gel now, Suave Professionals Firm Hold gel and it gives me perfect hold.
A modified version would be to cut back on how often you use shampoo, say from 3 times a week to one time a week and simply conditioner "wash" the other times. The book is called "Curly Girl" by Lorainne Massey. A great website for curlies is www.naturallycurly.com
Hope you find some help!
CO wash only since September '04! Dyed red botticelli curls (3b), fine and just past shoulder length
