Hey, I've been in your shoes before. I remember fighting with my curly hair everyday and hoping that I could talk my mom into letting me have something done with it.
She used to trim my hair herself and Yuck, you can only imagine the way it always turned out. I tried to dry it straight but it just turned into a big puffball, and when it would rain I would resemble my grandmother's poodle.
So I've been right where you are. I finally talked my mom into letting me get it all cut off - big mistake, I just looked like my little brother-with bed head. When I turned 14, I talked her into buying me the right products for my hair, that was all it took. I still use the same products, they still work great and I really love my curls.
My routine: I always condition my hair first, then use shampoo, and then condition again. I only comb my hair in the shower after the second conditioner. Then I use a leave in conditioner, and finger comb my hair (upside down) and blot with a towel. I give it time to dry a little, while I put on my make-up. Then I use mousse and a spray gel. I do blow dry my hair, with a low heat setting, while I scrunch it. I do not dry it all the way, I dry my roots and most of my hair, but i leave it a little damp, that way my curls don't get frizzy. Use a little, very little, gentle hold hairspray and I'm ready to go. It sounds like it takes forever, but I have it down to about 20 - 30 minutes from shower to finish.

Sorry for the long post but these are the things that have worked for me for the last 10+ years. They are relatively inexpensive, so maybe your mom will let you try them.
Good luck and hang in there!
GOD GAVE ME CURLY HAIR, MAN GAVE ME THE PRODUCTS TO TAME IT, BUT I GAVE MYSELF THE COURAGE TO WEAR IT.
I really, really can't stand my curly hair! I'm 12 years old and my mom says she's not gonna let me ruin my hair like my big sister did. I tried blow drying it and when that didn't work I just decided to live with it. My friends have great hair and i'm sick of mine! Does anyone know of somthing that can straighten but not ruin my hair? Do flat irons work? Pleas help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
