I was wondering how to do hair style #3839. I have long, straight hair, all the way down my back. I am looking for some cute hairstyles, and this one looked really cute. Also, how can I get my hair to curl like that? Thanks!
You have good taste! The first time I saw that picture i absolutely fell in love with it. It's gorgeous. Anyway, I have tried (with some success) to achieve that look on several people. You might want to have a friend do this with you--the back is really hard to do by yourself. Here are the steps I followed: 1. First, pull out two strands of hair in the front (the girl in the picture has long bang things). 2. I like to start sectioning in the front by making a part all the way down the center and clipping one whole side of hair out of the way. Then, starting at the center part, make a tiny section (hers look like they're half and inch or so wide) from your hairline to the crown of your head. Hold this section at a 45 degree angle to your head and twist it towards your center part. When you like how it looks, keep it down with a bobby pin or butterfly clip. 3. Continue making small sections, twisting, and clipping, all the way around your head. Then unclip the other side of your head and do the same thing, starting at the center part and moving around. This may take a while, but it's worth the effort. 4. Now unclip all your twisties, but be sure you hold them so they don't unravel (have your friend help if you need to). 5. Pull all the ends together in a ponytail and hold with an elastic band either clear or the same color as your hair. 6. Curl the ends by running a light gel (Aveda makes a good one) through them and curling with a medium-barelled curling iron in 1-inch sections. 7. Pin them around the crown of your head until you like the effect. Spritz with hairspray (Aveda's Firmata is great). Voila! Hard work, but it's a great style and will hold through hours of dancing (when I did this, I was even able to sleep on it. In the morning when i took out the pins, it stayed right where it was. I think I used too much hairspray. Oh well, whatever works, right?)
It`s amazing how you are so helpful to everyone, keep it up! I have straight, shoulder length, and very thin hair. I can`t seem to do anything with it but wear it down, 1/2 up 1/2 down, or put it in a ponytail, and I`ve been doing that for years and I have had enough! Do you know of any more cute styles or updos that I can do with my hair...?? Thanks *so* much!!!

Thanks, it`s nothing. Ok so you want a casual updo right? I`ve got a few.
Rolls: 1. Start by dividing your hair down the center. 2. Pick up a piece of hair from in front of your ear and twist it up away from your ear a few times 3. Pick up another piece, add it to that piece, and twist some more. 4. Continue this until you reach the back of your head. Pin the roll in place and do the same to the other side. 5. If your hair is pretty short, you can simply put the ends of your hair in a ponytail. If it`s longer you can put it in a messy bun by...
Messy Bun 1. Make a ponytail, but on the last loop, only pull it halfway through 2. There should be spiky little ends undeneath the loop you just made. Pull them around to the front.
Curly Updo 1. Make a high ponytail 2. Use a small barelled curling iron to curl the ends 3. Pin them around the crown of your head.
Curly messy bun 1. Put your hair on small rollers 2. Put it back in a messy bun 3. Pull out a few hairs to dangle over the bun. Leave a few hairs loose by your face too for a romantic look.
Bun Tail 1. Put half of your hair in a ponytail 2. Twist the bottom half and then twist it around the ponytail 3. Pin in place
Trendy Twist 1. Pull your hair back to the nape of the neck like you`re going to make a low ponytail 2. Twist upwards 3. Pin the twist to your head, leaving the loose free *You can jazz this up by curling the ends
Upside down twist 1. Pull your hair back like you`re going to make a high ponytail 2. Twist downwards 3. Pin the twist to your head. You can leave the ends free or tuck them up into the twist.
Hey!~ I have a semi-formal Sweethearts dance this coming Saturday, I have Blonde hair, a little past my bra strap and it`s straight. I`m looking for something really cute!! Please E-mail me!!

1. Part your hair to the side 2. Pull it back like you would to make a ponytail 3. Twist upwards a few times and pin it there 4. Leave the ends sticking out and spiky 5. Pull out a few hairs around your face to soften the look
My senior prom isn`t for another 2 months or so- but I`m trying to get a start on my hair now. I`d like to do it myself (I have people that will help me, of course) to save on expenses.
I have a LOT of medium-long dark hair that is both really thick (it gets incredibly frizzy if left on it`s own) and really heavy (it won`t hold curl, even with gel, for more than 3 hours and only if I sleep in curlers and leave them in the next day).
Last year I had an upside-down french braid then curled all the ends and pinned the curl to my head. to finish it off I put in a thin headband that matched my dress. This year I`d like to do something different. Any ideas?
My dress is long with a tight bodice and a slightly pouffy skirt. My hair falls just past the back line. It`s dark silver that turns purple in the light with black roses all over.
YOU HAVE MANY GREAT IDEAS. PROM IS RAPIDLY APPROACHING AND I NEED AN UPDO. I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT PULLING MY HAIR INTO A PONYTAIL AND MAKING ROLLS OF HAIR ; PULLING OUT SMALL PIECES FROM THOSE ROLLS TO CURL, AS YOU PREVIOUSLY STATED TO SOMEONE ELSE. HOWEVER, I WOULD LIKE SOME IDEAS ON HOW TO DO THE FRONT OF MY HAIR, INSTEAD OF JUST LEAVING IT PARTED IN THE MIDDLE OR TWISTING IT. I HAVE ALREADY DONE THE ZIG-ZAG AND A SIDE-PART. I NEED A NEWER INTRICATE IDEA. MY HAIR IS BROWN AND ABOUT 2 INCHES PAST MY SHOULDERS. IT IS CUT ANGULARLY. MY DRESS IS FUSHIA WITH SILVER SEQUINS. IT IS KIND OF SPUNKY AND A HALTER. IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS OR PICTURES PLEASE E-MAIL ME. THANK YOU. DENISHA18@AOL.COM

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Try making rolls towards the back (twisting towards your head, adding hair, twisting more, adding more, etc) on both sides and then combining the rolls with a barette that matches your dress and curling the ends. Here`s hoping your curls stay in all night!

Hey, I was just jumping in to say that if you ever have any questions about hair--how to do a style you've seen, advice on day-to-day 'dos, whatever--you can always ask me. I cruise the hairtalk section looking for people asking questions and I adore giving advice. I design hairstyles, so you'll get an original look, and I've been researching hair stuff for AGES so I know lots. Just e-mail me or IM me or reply to this post and I'll be glad to help.

get blonde highlights, part hair on the side, but leave bangs coming down to right at your eyebrows (if you don`t have bangs, you can easily get them cut in or do this yourself). His hair is layered with long (about 4 inches) hair on top, but then short hair on the sides and in the back.
as to other styles for guys, i`m not very well acquainted with male styles. look in the gallery. i can usually help you get what you want, but i`m not much for helping you find what you want. sorry
