Hey there, I told my partner about your idea, but she doesn`t recon that it`s "up" enough (whatever that`s meant to mean), any other ideas.

Oh, and the idea you gave for my mate, he doesn`t want to blow out his curls (he`s proud of the and likes showing them off), and one big reason his partner wants his hair up, is because when it is loose, tailed or braided, it usually manages to hit people in the face (ie her) when they are dancing.

Thanks again

A really easy way to do a messy bun is to pull your hair back like to make a ponytail then make a loop and put the band around it, make another loop with the ends on top of the other one and put the band around again, then just keep doing that until you have all the hair in there. Also, you can do a high ponytail and on the last pull-through pull it only halfway through, then turn the ends you`ve left out upwards. You could also try low pigtails or pigtail braids. Or you could make high pigtail braids and make them into braided buns on both sides. Good luck!

i don`t get what you mean by all that instructions up there (the messy bun one) [*lol* i`m clueless]
and thanx for the other reply! i get the it now :)

is there any one out there that can give really really EASY instructions for new hairstyles?? I am really clueless when it comes to fixing my hair but i want a new look. I dont no what to do if theres anyone out there that can help. PLEASE HELP!!

the pin curls will work better if your hair starts out wet, but no it does not need to be wet. Bobby pins are best.

tell your girlfriend to suck eggs. Just kidding :) Ok. This is difficult. I really can`t imagine a guy in a true updo that doesn`t make him look feminine. I guess you might try a braided bun. Or you could do a french braid and tuck in the ends. Pin them at your nape...Hope that works. Your friend. Your friend is being difficult. Your friend causes me pain akin to that of ovarian cysts. Oy! The only thing I can think of is somethign that is a little feminine, but since he wants to show off his curls, he`s going to just have to bite the bullet and deal with it. Tell him to put it in a ponytail and pin the curls around the ponytail so that they can`t hit people in the eye because cuts to the eye are extremely painful and he`d feel awful if he caused one. This should make an effect akin to that of almost every girl you will see at prom. hope that works too

sorry kid, no can do--i`m a very impatient person and have never been good at making clear instructions. However, the instructions of the articles at hairboutique.com are very clear and concise. hopefully you`ll be able to follow them. if not, talk to your hair stylist. she can demonstrate steps visually and thus make instructions much easier.

hd, i love your advice to mr somebody, i would add that if he looked on the long haired mens hyperboard, (access from men`s hair link on this site), look for post from jarkko about his photos, he would see some ideas that jarkko tried out on himself, a nice one for a prom situation is the sort of basket weave curl on the back of his head, would have to go to the salon for that one, but it might be fun to go with girlfriend and do both of you at same time, then you could get just what she`s looking for. is this boy updos for special occasions a big trend, i see a lot of posts regarding this activity and just wondered. would like to hear from mr somebody about how this adventure worked out for the two guys.

This year I will be going to my school`s formal date dance... My mom dosn`t want me to put my hair up because "it looks so great down and fluffed" but I really want to do something different because that`s how it`s been for every formal since 6th grade! I was wondering if anybody has any pictures of formal or semi-formal looks for hair that are preferably half up and not fully up? Please e-mail me.... Br00klynbaby05@hotmail.com (zeros... not o`s) thanks!

1) Pull out bangs and hairs around the face (use the picture as a guide)
2) Part hair in a deep side part
3) Make a horizontal part 1 inch back from your hair line. Clip this section out of your way
4) Section hair across the crown in four large (2 1/2 inches or so) sections
5) Take each section and twist it loosely towards the back of your head
6) Gather these sections into a ponytail
7) Take a small piece of hair from the underneath of the ponytail and wrap it around the ponytail. Pin it there.
8) Take the hairline part you have clipped out of the way and brush it towards the back of your head
9) Twist the section around the ponytail several inches down from the elastic.
10) Curl the hair inside the ponytail with a medium-barelled curling iron
11) Leave the rest of your hair loose--if necessary, straighten it.
***This is only an approximation of the hairstyle in the picture--I can`t see enought to give you exact instructions***

is your hair straight, wavey, kinky, or curly? And what type of look do you want--urban, preppy, punk, etc.

I would say the easiest thing you could do would be to add some texture. Wash your hair and scrunch it (like you`re crumpling a piece of paper) as it dries. This would give you a tousled, bed-head look. You could also slick it straight back with gel for sort of a latin lover look. Or you could curl it with a very small-barelled curling iron for something boyish. If you can french braid, you could do cornrows on yourself (or have someone do them for you) for something more urban. Or you could just put some gel at the roots for a little lift and leave your hair straight. Mess with the part if you want a bit more of a change

Tahnks for your help on style 4686, but my friends do not like it, so now i am searching for a new style. It is for homecoming, this weekend, I have long brown hair, i can make it curly straight or wavy, it frames my face and has long layers down to about my mid back. My dress is black and has one shoulder. My arms are very manly, i want to sort of hide that, maybe keep my hair down? I sort of like style 4669 http://gallery.hairboutique.com/detail.asp?Colors=2&Textures=255&Lengths=4&btnSearch=Search&Genders=1&SortBy=0&Styles=255&FaceShapes=64&ID=4669 but anything you have i`m sure is great. Thank you so much for all you have done :D

I would suggest making your hair wavey and then twisting the top half back and braiding it. If you need more help than that, write again.
