I hope you have not used arelaxer since your post,
I stop relaxing about five years ago, my hair just won`t stay straight. I started using Right On curl activator moisturizer and it is great. I use it every 2-3 days and I don`t get that greasy feeling. I style my shoulder length hair like Holly Robinson- Peete and Free on BET.

What happen to the Jerlon pressing system?

I thought that this was going to revolutionize the industry but it seem to disappear?

Do any salon in the country still offer it? And where?

Unless you leave it out of braids for at least 1 year it will continue to frizz. The Motions perm helped my hair stay straight (er) when I took it out of braids.

Wear your hair in two pig tails pulled to the back (smile)

Keeping your hair straighter longer is tough. But there are some wonderful natural hair styles out there and your hair is at a great length. If you`ve gone to all the trouble to get rid of the relaxer in your hair it would be a shame to start relaxering all over again. Unfortunately a kiddy perm is still a perm and you are right back where you started from.

I have surfed quite a few sites and there sites that have lovely styles for black. Example BomBHair has styles right on the front page. See the web address:
http://www.bombhair.com/

There are braids, cornrows, twist styles and etc. Use the power of the internet go to some search engines and put in the like "african american hair", " black hair", "black hair styles". Plus visit there are black hair magazines with great natural hair styles.

Good Luck

I know how you feel. I had the same problem. Having your hair pressed is not going to last. You may want to consider a mild relaxer. You could even try a kiddie relaxer if you don`t want to use the adult relaxers. This depends on the texture of your hair.

I ended up using African Pride relaxer. I had no problems with it. I hope this helped you and I hope that some other people will be able to help you.

I just got my hair out of braids, and I get it pressed every two weeks. The problem is it can`t stay straight for that long. Anybody got some tips as to how I can keep it straight, or some styles I can put it in when it`s getting nappy? If it`s any help my hair is about mid-shoulder length.
