Does Braids Really Speed Growth?

Well, I think the reason why people with braids experience alot of hair growth is, you`re not messing with your hair as much. I think when we overprocess, pull the hair by combing and brushing as well as over heat, we experience breakage. Our hair is growing, but we are not seeing the results because of the breakage. So I guess braiding is okay, If you want to minimize the fuss with your hair and it is also good because your hair isn`t exposed to outside elements. If you wash your hair while it is braided, moisturize your braids and get regular trims, about every 2 months, your hair will probably grow rather long. I would be careful in choosing a braider though, Some are more concerned with braiding than they are with caring for your hair. Don`t allow them to yank or burn your hair ends.

Yes, I loved my micros. The only thing that upsetted me was, my edges broke off. But I massaged wild growth hair oil into my temples, and the hair grew back super fast. I will be getting more micros within the next few weeks. They really grow my hair. I only leave my braids in for a month though. My friends say I just waste my money leaving them in for only a month, but I think I am saving my hair from long term torture. Oh yeah, if your head is still hurting after 2 weeks, then the stylist braided them toooo tight. The same thing happens to me everytime I go to the African Hair Braiding & Gallery. I used seabreeze on my edges and I had relief within a few days.

sometime too much chemicals can take away maximum hair growth.

Have you gotten your braids yet, Tileta? Was it a good or bad experience? How long did you leave them in?

Never mind, I read you previous post. I just know that if I ever decide to get braids again, I won`t leave them in past two months. But still, that would truly be a waste of money, because I paid $180 for my individuals. And now, I also have color in my hair, not to mention the relaxer, so I know that it would just be a waste of time.

I also pay $180 to $200 for my braids. In a way I feel it is a waste of money, but I continue to pay it anyway. Although you have color and a perm, I do not think it would be a problem for you to get braids. You would need to give your hair strengthening treatments for a few months to prepare the hair.

I am a witness that wild growth does grow your hair and fast. The testimonials are true. They posted my entire testimonial word for word. So there is some kind of truth in the testimonials. I started using wild growth that same day I took my braids out. In 2 months I had 3 inches of new growth rather than the normal. As far as getting 2 inches in 2 weeks, it seemed like that was what I was getting. My hair was sprouting right before my eyes. I was skeptical too, but I was like what the heck. It`s only $7. I am glad I did give it a try.

My hair is on my shoulders right now. Maybe about 1 1/2 inches from my shoulder blades. I think the wild growth is working for you. Considering that 1/4 to 1/2 is the norm. for monthly new growth.

Well Ms. Kelly, I have been wearing braids for a long time. I have been using a relaxer forever too. So I will continue to get my perm and my braids. Therefore, I will go ahead.
