Wow, do I know how you feel?! I had the same problem as you...it probably isn`t what you want to hear, but there isn`t any way to save the damaged hair. You have to cut it off and take real good care of what new growth you already have (condition, condition, condition - and no more damaging processes like blow-drying and stuff) and maybe get braids if you don`t want to go really short. All I know is, you`ll feel even worse if you hang on to the damaged hair than if you just get rid of it.

As for hair loss, try Nioxin - I haven`t tried it myself, but I`ve heard good things about it. And emu oil and MSM supplements are supposed to be good for that, too. Another thing you could do is wear a silk scarf as a head wrap - that`ll protect your hair and look stylish too!

I`m out of ideas for now, but think positive and your hair will be OK in no time. Oh yeah, and have patience...

the only thing you can do then is to really take care of your hair fomr now on and be patient - i know you may be thinking there;s gotta be another way around it, but there isn`t really :(

just regularly deep condition your hair, and take extra care! :) goodluck!

yea, there is no way to completely revive your hair at this point. thats why you have to be careful when growing your hair out from a perm to a natural. After you get your hair cut, maybe get your hair in braids/cornrows. Something very hands-off while waiting for your hair to grow back. It will take time, but at the end you will be pleased. Trust someone who has been in your situation.
Commited to long hair by 6 months

I had the same problem and really would like to keep the length I have achieved (below my shoulders). I use styling silk and I rub it into my ends, this makes them feel soft and they look curly. I find that the styling silk protects my ends from further drying. I get compliments all the time and questions about what kind of curl I use. I do not use a curl. My hair is relaxed but when I wet it I get curls. the styling silk makes it look curlier and I don`t worry when it`s muggy or raining out. The styling silk is made by a company called Hairlox. It`s in a white bottle with red lettering. It`s inexpensive and worth a try. By the small bottle first in case you don`t like it.

I would suggest that you get your hair trimmed, so when your hair does grow, it would grow back evenly. I wouldn`t suggest braids because to me they just pop out your hair. Also you should keep your hair natural for a few months, and I would suggest you press your hair. Perm seemed to drop out your hair very badly, and pressing it would keep straight yet natural. I press my hair, and I have no problems. And also, drink a lot a water, even though it is a simple task, it really makes you hair stronger, and you need moisture to grow your hair.
