Cutting my toddler's hair

Hi Everybody,

Glad to be a part of the board!!! I am stuck in a dilema. My 2 year old son hates going to the barber shop to get a hair cut. However, I think he would let me do it, if only I knew how. Watching the barbers do it at the shop, doesn't seem all that difficult, but I know there has to be an art to it.

Can anyone who knows explain to me, how a hair cut should be done on African-American male hair, like which direction one should cut, going with the grain or against the grain, lining-up, etc.

I really appreciate any help anyone can give as I am very desperate. The battles at the Barbershop
are beginning to be too much for me to handle!!!!
