QuoteReplyTopic: When you use Surge do you Posted: March 23 2005 at 11:37am
part your hair, spray on Surge in the various sections, then add an oil or moisturizer? I have only used it on my hairline & immediately after applying itI use a moisturizer or oil because Surge is so drying. I have never used it anywhere else on my hair. Anyone us it throughout your hair? What is your procedure? Have you had success? How often?
Thanks

From the forums I have read, people oil first than surge because of the dryness it causes. You can go www.longhaircareforum.com and read some posts for free, there are many there about surge and u don't have to be a member just to read or have long hair.
That's where I learned about Surge (on the LHCF). I bought some but I haven't used it yet because I was afraid of breakage. I may use it in the future.
It is called Surge 14 and is a product that is suppose to promote hair growth. It can be drying so I know it is best to use some kind of moisturizer or oil with it.

I apply Surge Plus 14 to my hair, massage it into my scalp, wait a few minutes, then apply my moisturizer. I have not experienced the extreme dryness, itching, or breakage that other people have claimed to experience with this product. I think part of the reason is that I wash and deep condition my hair every other day, and I use rich moisturizers like unrefined shea butter, Qhemet Biologics Olive & Honey Intense Hydration Balm or Amla Oil Nourishing Pomade. If you check out Surge's website, www.surgehaircare.com, it explains that you might experience itching, flaking, and irritation if your scalp is already dry, or if you have a lot of product buildup on your scalp. So, ladies, I think the key is to wash your hair more frequently and make sure you moisturize your scalp with products that don't contain petroleum, mineral oils, or waxes that can clog your follicles.
I love my Surge Plus 14! I've been using it for less than a week, and even my mom can see that my hair is longer and thicker!

msmiz, NOTHING can revert relaxed hair back to natural. It's not physically or chemically possible. The moisture might make relaxed hair frizz due to the moisture, though, so you should use it after shampooing on damp hair, before drying and styling it.

My edges are coming in faster than ever. I use it moderately because surge can have a drying affect and my hair is colored. But over all i would rate it highly recommended.
