Nah, the WaWa doesn't appear to have those nylon-y ridges. But at the
same time, I wouldn't say the WaWa feels all that silky either--it
feels somewhat similar to the ebonyline, but not quite as coarse. The
Freetress feels very thin, silky, and smooth, and it's significantly
higher-shine than WaWa and HSF. The HSF refined is sort of a strange
texture; it's very thin and it looks more kinky than wavy to me, if
that makes any sense. Of the three, the WaWa looks best on sight, imo.
I only have some straight samples of the WaWa right now, but I ordered
the wavy and should be getting that soon. :)

Jenny...I havent really inspected tha wawa that close yet. I think I only took it out of the package and glanced at it and felt it a few times and then put it right back in. Do you think the wawa has the look or feel of a nylon fiber?

Yeah its a different feel. I cant quite find the words I want to describe it. To look at an individual strand I see the same things you are saying. But to look at a full bundle it is very human hair looking. Kinda strange...huh!
It almost feels--and looks--like a nylon fiber to me, like when you
look at it really close up, you can see that it's a textile. It's very
low-shine, though, so in that sense maybe it looks more human. But I
really prefer the PH and the Dome to the Ebonyline, personally. :)

Yes, Jenny Ive thought that all along. The ebonyline thermal is slightly more yaki than the other thermals that Ive seen. Not much but slightly. Still not a 'real yaki' texture though you can feel it a little.
Gotcha, babe. And it does seem like the therms are thinner overall.
I have to day, though, that I didn't think the Ebonyline Adore was as
silky as the PH or the Dome. It had a sort of "texture" to it. Has
anyone else found this with the Ebonyline?
:)

Syren: I'm confused. So the HSF wavy retains its wave, or the wave drops? :)
Per the texture, I think therm in general may be a bit thinner and
silkier than monofiber. Somebody on Quinn's noted this a while back
regarding the AD therm they'd purchased.
:)
What i meant is the French refined remains poofy - it doesn't go straight - after you get it wet. It DOES lose any curl you may have put in.
OH MAN!! So THAT'S why I'm obsessing about thermo!! It's finer in texture than monofiber - yes, I agree with that. My own hair is really fine, so I must be looking for something close to my own. That makes sense.
You *can* Fry the ends!!! OK, not like that's anybody's goal. . .and honestly I"m not sure how it happened. I can't keep my hands out of my hair -- not sure what I'm feeling for -- but now that I"ve been doing the PH replacements around the front, I feel for those nasty fried ends. Well. . .hmmm. . .I found some in the hair I JUST INSTALLED, which is HSF!!
It's very strange. They have that telltale, frizzed out, really wirey feel that makes you just want to CUT THEM OFF. And this is in hair I put in less than a week ago. Blow dryer with brush? I haven't used a curling iron, so. . .the experimentation continues!! I mean this is the stuff that I held that 360 degree Doc wand on for like a MINUTE to see if it would melt, and NADA. So, sumpin else is up.
Jenny - absolutely. The WaWa makes monofiber feel like straw and the silky monofiber is pretty darn nice, imo.
Futura is like doll hair but still very soft. The shine is just totally outrageous, tho.
Hot Stuff Fusion in the french refined seems even softer. It's like feather soft, the kind of soft that sweeps to the side in the wind. I wonder what a whole head of this stuff would be like to wear. Oh well. Sigh. So much hair, so little time...
[QUOTE=FinaFina]So far, it totally does keep its
texture, but it's that big hair volume thing, not wavy or curly. You
could mix it with the straight to pump up the volume for that Big Texas
Hair thing. It curls, too, but in the same way as HSF straight.

Feh. I'm not really liking the Hot Stuff fusion. Not in the french refined anyway. It's too light and fluffy and the blonde is way too blonde for me. I put in a few strands just to test and the white blond totally stands out.
If anyone wants the 27/613 I have left (a bundle and a half, some are pretipped with latex), $5.00 takes it & that includes shipping. PM me whoever wants it.
(edit: HSF SOLD! Thanks!)

not to get off topic here or anything but i kinda noticed that the wawa hair is a little bit lighter and thinner than the ph, like the differnce between someone with fine hair and someone with a bit of thickness for example, am i just crazy or do you guys notice that too?

One thing to bear in mind: they ALSO have a "wavy" version which I'm
wondering if I should have gotten: Amm has gotten this one. I just
wonder if it's as hard to deal with as the straight is -- i.e. if its
TEXTURE STAYS as it is. . .
Fina, I have 2 bags of this - HSF french refined or wave - if you want some to play with. They're colors you'll never use (dark br and black/auburn zebra) nor probably will I, but I've been doing wash/curl/roller xperiments. Let me know if you or ANYONE wants a hunk.

What color RIT didyou use? I'd kinda like to try coloring some
wawa to achieve a brown with subtle red tones. Maybe get the #4
and use a reddish brown RIT. Or get the Dark Auburn and Color
with Brown.
I used the tan liquid dye with just a *touch* of the dark brown to give it a "base."
The result was really nice, but still a little dark for my 18/22
natural hair, so I tried blending a few strands of the WaWa with the
blonde (human hair) tips I'd already made. It's a beautiful
blend, but I'm sorta holding my breath on how the WaWa and HH will
co-mingle (and hopefully not co-tangle). I'm putting these in
this week, so I'll let you know!

I am SO SO DIGGING having thermal synth around my face and on the sides of my head. . .!!! LOVE IT! In fact I'm going to take out the Human Hair I had put in. . .it really sucks in comparison to the synth!!
I just ordered a 20" wavy weft of the 27/613. . .Yippee!!
BTW: my 27/613 HotFusion mix is almost indistinguishable in color from my 18/22 in human from GlamourHair.
RIT's an all-purpose dye available in U.S. drugstores and supermarkets
that's used primarily to dye fabrics and for crafts projects. I imagine
there's some U.K. equivalent?
