so i took out all my hair today, for the reason that when if first installed the extendtubes on my bottom hair i wasnt too good at it and they were all over the place so i decided to take them all out cause i was getting better (and i was all over the place with the rows) and redo it..when i took them out when i was brushing my hair a lot of hair came out onto the brush. Now i remember some of it can be trapped shedding? but there was a decent amount of it, my hair doesnt SEEM to be any thinner than usual tho, did i do something wrong or is that just natural? the extensions i had in were in for about 4-5 days
I'd have to see the amount of hair to say for sure if it was too much or not. I've taken some tubes out or had them slip out after that long and I didn't have what would seem an unusual amount of hair come out.
Sometimes when I accidently double over a tube and end up having to turn and turn and turn it while trying to break it apart (I HATE when that happens), that's the time I seem to chew up my hair.
Extentubes are hard for a DIY to remove, imo. I can take them out of my doll's head just fine, tho.
So long as you don't have any bald spots...I'd say your alright! It was probably good you went ahead and took those out, so next time you can be abit more tidy!
Another thing you can do...lokk at the hairs attached to the tubes(or in your case the brush) If you see "white" balls at the ends...where it came out of your scalp... then you're OK! Those hairs were ready to come out/shed anyway. That "white" bulb indicates the hair is dead and a new hair is forming inside the folicle. It's the natural cycle of hair growth.

thank you guys so much for your replies..i dont have a digital camera to show anything but the best way i can describe is i brushed and there was hair coming out onto the hairbrush for about 3 or 4 times of brushing..enough hair to pull it out and throw away if you get my drift. yah gina im very happy i decided to take them out because i went through my hair while it was wet just to double check and no bald spots but who knows what wouldve happened if i let it in for a long period of time. my hair is a little bit thinner tho but hey this is my first time so even tho ive read up on this stuff i dont really know what im doing yet. Im having second thoughts about putting metal in my hair too..i mean if you know what your doing all is well but i think for me at this point theres too many *mistakes* i can make to mess it all up. My question is do people do pinchbraiding diy? i was thinking of trying to learn it and do it that way instead *yes im sure this is going to take me forever hehe*
p.s no white bulbs that i noticed

I "chewed" off a lot of hair when I was first learning microlinks removal...especially when the darn things would double over. Patience is crucial...I've found if you just reflatten them in one direction and then carefully squeeze in the other direction the stubborn ones will generally come out without clipping your hair off at the root. Sometimes you need to pull the extension hair from the top. Thank heaven I got better at it. Now if I can just perfect the shrinkie removal thing...
