I've taken mine diving in Cabo and doing laps in the pool at the gym and never had a problem. I always towel dry my hair when I'm done in the water, brush it out, and leave it down so it air dries quickly. You might want to bring your self some de-tangler to spray on the ends because the salt water makes your hair a little sticky with or with out extensions.

should hold up like any extensions would, just keep them from getting wet.  I went to LA last year and played on the beach with waist length HH extensions, all I would recommend is putting it up in a ponytail or bun to keep the tangles at bay, and stay out of the water

Staying out of the water at LA beaches is good advice, period, regardless of your hair! You don't really want to know about the coastal water, although it is supposedly MUCH cleaner than it was in the 70s when I spent half my waking life in the CA ocean...yuck. I don't want to think about it.

Personally, I only go all the way in the ocean in Hawaii or some other deep-ocean place...here at home, it's feet only.

Well, I'm speaking of Florida, but I'm sure the purity of the water is just as sketchy!

Hmmm...don't know about that. It may be cleaner. We have a huge population (think sewer treatment plants), some dirty industries, and a really weird flood control system which ends up washing tons of trash and gook into the ocean. Then we have Mexico close by and they dump their sewage RAW into the ocean. I don't think Florida has quite the problems we have, at least not yet - it's probably a lot cleaner.

your more likely to be killed in the car on your way to the beach then being eaten by sharks

its all about perspective

Do people actually swim in local waters anywhere?

I've forgotten, since I'm in New York and the West River is a cesspool....

I don't understand it, either, Jenny. People are in serious denial. On hot days, the beaches here are PACKED - and there are a million peeps in the water! Just the kids and babies alone...grosses me out. Same with water parks - who in their right mind goes there? Waterproof diapers, sure.

I would never be really satisfied that I'd get it all out of my hair, either.

You can swim in Northern CA waters, but mostly they're too damn cold. Syren is right about LA- I lived in Manhattan Beach about ten years ago, and there was a refinery just north of us that dumped its goo right out into the ocean. Not to mention the Long Beach oil slick in '89.

And for some stupid reason, people swim in Lake Michigan, even though it's the same (toxic) water as the Chicago River.

But yeah, Florida should be okay.
