I am new to extensions (which I love!) and have been trying to read as much info as possible. On the GL site, I saw they had an air pressure system that does multistrand applications. Curious if anyone knows anything about this method. Is it worth looking into?
It costs alot of money chick. Here is my understanding of it..... the hair is pre-bonded and there is a couple of strands on a clear strip (dont know what the strip is though ie glue etc??) anyway, they open the strip and place the clients hair in between and use the air pressure machine to clamp down. The machine heats up the wax and melts the extensions onto the customer hair, then it releases after 20 seconds and you remove the film. The results are 10 extensions done in 20 seconds. My opinion on this is that it is similar to just using straighteneing irons and that the film is there to hold the extensions in place and to stop the wax melting directly onto the hot iron.
oh and would it not make the bnds flat against your hair? and would there not be lots of stray hairs in? Its quite hard to explain really but imo feel that the name of the machine and advertising is missleading. When i phoned up about it i was told that you also have to purchase another machine and need to use it along with the air pressure machine for it to work. And also you have to train with them before they will send you the any machines. Dont quote me but im sure the price was over �4000 for the 2 machine and the training? I would double check that info though.

yeah imagine how it would be on the hair, i mean wouldnt it stop you putting your hair up etc if your hair as rows of solid glue on it? Im curious of this. Think ill stick to the method im safe with though. what method do you use Kalika?

1. Braid tracts in (intergration weave), 2. glue tracts in (latex glue, more temporary) 3. Pinchbraiding, 4. open ended braiding, 5. had fusion done once, the sectioning wasnt done right by the woman who did it so a lot of stray hairs got tugged on giving me the itchies, then when she removed it, she took 1/3 of my hair with me (I swear I will stab her in the eye) 6. last time I did extensions I did shrinkies, and I just love em, I will probably stick with them for a while
this really makes me sound like I have more expireance then I do, lmao, Im mostly a diy'er and only do other people as favors (*cough* if I owe em something) and only charge for the hair and a pizza and beer
AFAIK, they haven't debuted that new GLs machine yet. It's "coming
soon," although when I have no idea. And you can bet it'll be a
fortune, and I highly doubt it'll be worth the cost.
I think its released over here in the uk Jenny as im sure i also remember one of my customers mension a local salon advertising this method. I will check this out though, i think i might go to one of their free consultations as a customer to get some more insite.
