I have messed up my hair with bleach. I have hair that is straight and falls to about 4½ inches below my shoulders. It's also quite very fine but there is alot of it. I am having it cut tomorrow to try and get rid of the damage and dryness. I can't find any mid-length hair styles i like though - probably as i like my long hair! Has anyone got any ideas or pics of a nice mid-length hair style? My face shape is oval. Thanks!

Hard to say without a picture but if it's fine and damaged by bleach and you have an oval face shape, short layers (i.e. pixie) might be the way to go.  It will give you a chance to start over anew.  Good luck with the haircut.  Let us know how it turned out.

I know not everyone likes layers but I'd probably go with medium-long layers in your case. I would want to keep as much of the length as possible while making it look as un-damaged as possible and long layers are one way to do that. It all depends upon what kind of style you want to end up with. Are you trying to grow your hair long?

I agree with Mels. No need to be drastic if your hair is only slightly damaged and not fried. Cut as little off as it will take to make it look healthier. I have hair that sounds very similiar to yours. Fine, but lots of it, and I color it blonde but have bleached in the past as well. In my opinion A good trim and loads of deep conditioning should help dramatically, and try and lay off heat styling if you can. I recommend a good weekly deep conditioner with proteins, and a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner for daily use. I know a lot of people think professional products are a "waste of money" but when you have hair our type, it is best not to risk ruining it by using cheap harsh products. My sister has super thick, course, wavy hair and she could use acetone on her hair and it would still look good! I on the other hand, have to load up on conditioner, then use a leave-in conditioner just to keep my naturally wavy fine hair from getting damaged or frizzy. Go figure. Let me know if you want any product suggestions.
