I checked air-dry with braids, but I actually don't do that exactly. If I want to stretch my hair out in preparation for a style, I'll do jumbo twists on my wet hair and then band it overnight. If I want to do small twists, I'll put my hair in two ponypuffs and leave them to dry part-way. At that point I'll begin twisting.

I air dry with braids. It's easist for me. I am never in a hurry when I do it, because I normally wash my hair first thing saturday morning, and it dries while I do my "chores" or while I'm acting like I'm doing something.

Pokanhontas, your hair is very pretty.

I checked hooded dryer with heat (roller set).  Have been doing this since I was a child.  Keeps my hair healthier than blowdrying.  Also, most ethnic / spanish beauty shops in NYC use rollers & hooded dryers. Airdrying at home would take too long.

I checked hooded dryer with heat.  I would air dry more often but my hair literally takes all day and I never had the time.  What I normally do is brush my hair back into a ponytail and put my hair into one big shirley temple curl(that's what I call it).  Then I put a scarf on so the heat isn't directly on my hair.  I do this until my hair is pretty much all the way dry then let the rest air dry, next I blow dry just a little and flat iron.

I too also check air-dryed braid, but sometimes I also like to dry it in a bun.

It's when you put moisturizer or oils or something on your ends and put a sandwich baggie over them and a scrunchie to hold it on.

Can anyone tell me what it means to "baggie"?  I've seen it a couple times on the message boards...

I loved air drying in a braid, but my hair would never completely dry, and I would have a lot of shedding/breakage because of that, so I no longer do it. I air dry my hair loose, and when its dry I usually put something on the ends and roll it up into a french twist or pin it up into a bun. I leave it that way until nighttime, and I take it down to baggie. I used to rollerset and dry under a hooded dryer with heat, and I found that I still had to trim my ends often. Blowdrying has never done ANYTHING for my hair. It makes it stiff and wiry.

The most popular choice, air dry loose, is the one I picked but I didn't read the question first. I towel dry for 5 min., air dry loose for 15 min., air dry in a bun overnight, and then air dry loose the rest of the way because there are parts that stay damp from being in a bun. This gives me pretty good results because if I air dry loose the whole time my hair gets huge this keeps it pretty controlled.

cebnn, how do you pronounce shealoe? Is it shea-aloe or shea-loe?
