miamigirl you look great.....y'know one of the most natural things that we have in the part line is 'flyaways'.....not sure if you wanna do that to a piece like this...but if you clipped a few...or had her put a few 'shorties' into the mesh, it may help disguise it a bit.

are you talking about the way the hair parts and shows the mesh, or the way the hair 'stops' at your forehead.  That was the thing i could never make look real when i wore wigs...b/c our hair thins out the closer it gets to our face...and pieces just seem to stop w/ a full compliment.

it looks gorgeous on you!!!
has someone been swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool again?

Thansk Tangles.  If you're interested in providing this type of service, then my stylist might be able to point you in the right direction.  Here's her contact info:  Peggy O'Neal (310) 820-8861.  Good luck.

Hi Kelley.  I feel like the mesh is too visible and my stylist agrees, which is why I now have bangs and am changing out the base of my piece for something that blends better.  I do wash it myself, once or twice a week and then once a month the piece is completely removed and washed on it's own.

Miamigirl: You look great! No way that hair isn't growing out of your head! I wear something similar, and am wondering if you thought the mesh was too dark, too light or just visible. Sure can't tell from your pics!! Do you wash this yourself?

If anyone knows of someone in So. Florida who cleans human hair, pls. let me know. Thanks!

Hi Amm. Thanks for the compliments.  It's a custom made piece that I ordered directly from my stylist, who specializes in hair restoration.  She's amazing and completely saved me after the hairlocs nightmare (which I'm sure you can relate to).  Here's her info in case anyone is interested.  I'm not trying to sound like and ad, but she has gone above and beyond all of my expectations, so I whole heartedly recommend her.  She works with clients all over the U.S., not just in LA where I live.

So hard to tell this is not real. The part looks so natural and the color is perfect on you. Looks great, miamigirl! So good to see you too.

Where'd you get this piece? It's fabulous!

Well, I don't see it myself, but I'll take your word for it. At least you know that since it doesn't show up in photos, you can have your photo taken and not worry about it showing! :)

This is an odd suggestion, but there's this stuff called "Liquid Latex". You might have heard of it- it's like latex body paint that dries stretchy, so you can wear it kinda like clothes. I was thinking, if you got a tiny bit of it in flesh-color, and then dotted it on with a tiny paintbrsuh right on the mesh, it might cover it up? Sort of like a skin-part on a wig, except DIY.

Thanks ladies.  The mesh doesn't show in the pictures, but you can definitely see it up close or in the sun.  I'll try to take a closer picture tonight.

Mochachip:  Good idea...I'll try a criss cross pattern

Purrmachine:  Unfortunately, your head has to be shaved in some areas for a piece like this (bonded) and my styist shaved most of the hair that I could pull through.  I don't think that she realized that I needed to do that, so now I'll just have to wait until some grows out, but I'll definitely try to conceal things that way when the time comes.

It looks great and I'm with everyone else I can't see the mesh.  I can tell that your scalp looks slightly dark in the part but not actual distinct mesh.  can you try styling it slightly differently?  maybe one of those styles where the hair crosses over itself?  then that  should cover the part entirely...

That is great. I cannot tell that it is a hairpiece at all. Beautiful colors.

wow, looks gorgeous!  Jenny is right, it is a very sexy style, and the hair itself looks really nice.  I cannot tell from the pics where the mesh shows, so I'm not quite sure what you mean by it showing.  Do you have any of your own hair in front that you can leave out to maybe hide the mesh?

Hmm...I'm remembering now that with lace-fronts, I think a lot of women sort of incorporate a few little "baby hairs" into the front mesh part to make it look more natural. I'm sure your stylist will know how best to proceed, though. Again, it's beautiful! :)

Thanks so much ladies.  I know that it's not evident from the pictures, but believe me...it's visible.  Yes, Jenny it's the mesh part right at the very front...the most noticeable area.    I'll start searching.  I already tried foundation and it didn't work that well.  I'm going to see my stylist after work tomorrow and hopefully she can do something, but I think that to an extent, the part will always look a little fake.

Well, I can't see anything, but I'll certainly take your word for it. So it's the mesh part right at the very front? I wonder if this is the same issue some people have with lace-front wigs, and I believe most people who use lace-fronts have to put some makeup in the front. SAS might be a good person to ask about this; you might also want to do a search on lace-fronts at BHM, assuming this is the same issue I'm thinking of. Now, with a lace-front, you'd use some bonding glue to glue it down, and then maybe pat some pressed powder on top, or a bit of foundation, I'm thinking.

Anyone else?

Thanks for sharing those photos, girl!

:)

Thanks Jenny.  You're the best.  The part that concerns me is probably not too visible in the pictures, but it's definitely noticeable to me (and my boyfriend), probably because we're looking for problems.  Anyways, it's right where the part starts near my forehead.  You can clearly see the mesh (if you're really paying attention).  I wish there was a simple way to cover it.

For anyone that wants to see the pics, here they are:
