I've done the reading, I've bought the hair and the supplies, and I've enlisted a friend to help me install my first batch of synth. Yay! (18" wawa, Liquid Gold) And while I generally understand the theory of placement (thank you ladies, lol), it would still be very, very helpful to have a series of detailed pictures to show my not so in-the-know friend, who will be doing the back of my head. Is there anything like this online? Or have any of you who routinely use bonded wefts ever photographed the process? The best I can find is the tutorial at hisandher.com. It gets the basic point across, but could be a lot more comprehensive.

I've been searching for a while, but no luck so far.

The closest thing I've got is this

That's one weft flipped up, and one weft pointing down as it would normally sit. That's with the microring method, but the placement is the same. That's all I've got, as I usually take before and afters, but not durings.

Oh wow, I had started this thread a while ago and just assumed it died. Thanks, Rae. I'll save that pic and add it to my archives...slowly growing. I've been working my way through the black hair boards and having a bit more luck there...nothing specific to what I'm looking for, but generally the focus over there is less on strand by strand, so I'm sure I'll come up with something. I'll post a link here if something good turns up, AmethystKat.

Strangely enough, I really haven't seen many photos of weft placement online. H&H might be the best there is. Sensationnel used to have some photos and a demo of bonded wefts of their site, I think, but they've replatformed recently and I don't think that info. is there anymore.

I wish I could be more help. In the meantime, have you read Sherrie's tutorial on making bonded wefts last longer? There's lots of good info in that. http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=29371 &PN=1

Yeah, Jenny, lol, over at Quinn's is where I first found the link to this site. This is my second home now, though. I can't have fun hair like that anymore, much more conservative boss and all. And their loose hair forum isn't too active.

Liquid gold held better in my find hair than the extend tubes are - lots of slippage. I'm thinking about switching to shrinkies, or I may track down some of those extend tubes lined in silicon. All of the sites selling good ones seem to be in German though  , ha!

I may get a practice head and do up a clumsy tutorial myself. I'm no pro, but it'd be helpful, even for my own reference when enlisting friends.  Plus, I could practice which way gets the wefts to lay flattest when they are pulled back into a pony tail.
