Try to get lighter color roses...I had dark red roses and I did not like the color of the water, but the scent was GREAT and I loved it on my hair and skin.
You can buy it or you can make it yourself. Just put roses in a jar of distilled water for about a week. Make sure it is by a window where the sun can hit it and you shake it up at least 2 times a day. After the week is over pour the water out into a jar/bottle while straining out the rose petals.
*Edit to add... if you have reusable tea bags just put the rose petals in the water and let it boil.
It's good for skin and can be a room fragrance spray as well.
thanks a lot sistaslick. I know its good for the skin because it was one of the gazillion things i used on my face for my teenage acne. ::off to nearest international grocery store::
I mix rosewater with my Infusium 23 leave to dilute it. Renee, You can find it on the shelves of any Indian grocery store.
Since I can't get the link to work, I just copied my response from another hair site about rosewater benefits:
It can be used on the skin and hair. It is said to stimulate and increase the blood flow to the skin and scalp. It also balances sebum/oil production. I mix it with my leave-in (Infusium 23) and spray it in after washes.
On the skin its said to fight acne. It also tighens the pores.
