I am going to try this method but I have heard they are hard to remove?? I have the Extendtube kit from Hairpiece. If you cannot get one out what do you do before I start?
Hey Molly! You need to get an extendtube remover. It's different than the regular pliars. It has a circle through the center that when you squeeze on the clamped down extendtube, it pops back into a circle again. Then you just slide it down the hair. I'll check real quick to see where I got mine from.
Just found it. It's at hisandher.com and it's called a Ring-Xer, and it's only like $12.99. I use it and it's great! Hope that helps. Maybe one of the same came in your kit!

I looked on hisandher.com to see if the one I had looks the same. My kit contains a pair of plyers and it has that tool also for removal but it looks a tad different. It does have the circle shape though so THANKS for your help. Have you had any problems getting them out with that tool?
If you bought the $99 Extendtube kit you should have 2 pairs of pliers, one pair to install (the smooth ones) and one pair to remove them (with ridges). Removal is SUPER easy... I can take out a full head of Extendtubes in about 20min
I think extendtubes are easier to remove than the links. I have the "special tool", but I found it to be a challenge and just used the application pliers for removal....Tubes/links are not my favorite extension method...I had a lot of breakage. I really like shrinkies. That's my 2 cents.

I find the rings easy to apply and remove, on someone else. But on myself I have a hard time removing them, especially in the back. Although I havent used the tube opener that you can buy.
