I'm just kidding! Welcome butterflie! My hair is similar to yours
in color and texture it seems (though mine is all one length, and I'm
trying to grow it long), and it won't hold curl either (though perms
even fall out of it after a week). I used to bleach mine white,
and at that time it would hold curl (because it was fried!).

Hey everyone... new here! My name's Rachel and I'm 24 in June. I'm from IL (N-NW 'burbs of Chicago). I'm into cars, poetry, reading, design and other random stuff (you can ask me). I graduated from Bradley Univ a year ago with a BS in Advertising, minor in Marketing. And I'm a nerd.
My hair. Hmmm... well that's the whole reason I found this place and signed up (duh!)! I've got STICK straight hair that, technically, I think is blonde-dirty blonde, tho in the sun it gets a little reddish, and at times looks more like light brown. My hair won't take a curl (for more than a couple hours) unless I perm it (which I've done, and loved!). I've colored it slightly before, but only a shade or two darker and the "temp" stuff. I've got some natual highlights that are very subtle but will lighten up a little this summer.
Length-wise it's about 1.5-2" past the top of my shoulder with cheek-bone-length bangs and some soft long layers at the front. This is the longest my hair has been in about 6 years, as I chopped it to a pretty short style my junior year in highschool (loved it, but more work than long... lotsa bedhead!).
My hair is FLAT!! I get a little body when I blow it dry, but it usually falls flat winthin a few hours (by lunchtime). If I use a round brush the soft curls are usually flat in a few hours (before lunch!). Drives me NUTS!
Product-wise, this is what I currently use (I usually change brands and/or types every couple months): Shampoo: Pantene Thick & Full Conditioner: Pantene Thick & Full, used every other day on ears down and every day to the bottom 1-1.5" Other: Some sort of silk-based thickening creme (a dime before drying) and Pantene Flexible Hold aerosol spray
I've got various pics on my site (link in sig) in the picture section and a couple in the WRX section, but they aren't all that recent (about 6months old, or older).
I like my hair color, but I must admit, I LOOOOOVED it curly (I'll dig up a pic of that at one point too.) So I'm in the process of trying to decide if I want to perm again. I read something about different techniques and stuff, and am interested in those. I think I may just make a "consultation" appointment with my stylist and talk to her about what I want and stuff before making the decision, tho any ideas/suggestions would be welcome.
Oh, and I call myself hair-retarted. I can't do my hair AT ALL, especially not this length. I've NEVER been able to grasp it... tho I can make the front of my hair look pretty cute, haha!
