I've been reading up on more posts and now I'm wondering which would be better for me.  I have naturally curly hair that I will need to straighten.  I believe I read that the AD is better when the natural hair needs the use of hot tools.  Let me know what you guys think!!  Thanks

Kelly

Theoretically, the AD therm would be better if you're using hot tools, but I'm not sure if anyone's done long-term testing with it yet. PlastikHaar also has a new fiber called Powerlon, which is more heat resistant that the standard monofiber and may work well, too. I believe AMM is waiting on a Powerlon order now. :)

I had emailed Sarah about the powerlon. She told me that she doesn't use curling irons and the like as a matter of personal taste (so I  guess she can't give any input as to the long term wear of the fiber under these conditions)  but assured me that it was heat resistant enough that anyone who desired to curl it or use other hot tools should have no problems. I imagine, as with the Wawa, that ceramic irons are still a no-no.

I was getting ready to put in an order for the stuff  but then went with FinaFina's Indian hair instead.  I meant to post this info in a new thread but forgot. Oops!

Unfortunately Powerlon doesn't come in any natural colors (that I can
see.) Correct me if I'm wrong on that.

I've had extensive difficulty ordering from AD in regard to their
thermofiber. Long story short - they had what I wanted and then they
said they didn't. They said I could pay via Paypal but they never sent
me their addy even after I requested it twice. They changed the price
of their weft twice even though I did not change or even indicate I
wanted something different. And then after all this they said they
didn't have what I was requested and that their supplier had sent
them the wrong hair. I simply told them I'd wait until they had their
online ordering up and try again then. emails are too confusing with
them and overseas calls (no matter how low the price) are not worth
it to me for a weft of hair.

As an aside, people have been waiting since 2003 for AD to go online
and here we are 2 years later and it's not an option.

They do have that full page saying they'll be online in the Summer of
2005. We'll see. I'm not holding my breath.

I have learned since having PH that metal heating and curling tools
are highly overrated. If you simply must use them, stick with human
hair or thermal. If you can change your routine, Plastikhaar is a far
better option, imo - less expensive, better selection, personalized
customer service.
