Jenny, I think the difference here on screws and ridges is simply that the ridge is a continuous corkscrew.
And y'all don't have to trust my opinion. And I haven't even
tried them myself. But just to be clear, for once in my life I
wasn't be sarcastic when I said some people had given them positive
reviews...
I just have to look up, how much shipping to USA is. Normally I sell my items only in UK, as the post is faster than to USA and the shipping costs are clear.
Don't hit me with too many english words, I am sweating here, that I understand everything right.
I have to go to bed now, its 2 am here, and have to get up at 7 am :-(
I will order some heat wands with plugs for uk and usa, but I am afraid of the shipping costs from Germany to USA. They are horrible.
I ordered hair from Headrazor in Germany and it was less than $10 USD and my package arrived super fast. My wand weighs 10.7 oz so perhaps it won't be as much as you fear.
But don't laugh about the microrings with screw inside, not grooves!
Main Entry: 1groove
Pronunciation: 'grüv
Function: noun
1 : a long narrow channel or depression
They're grooved. They're also ridged. Just depends which word you want to pick.
But really, that's just splitting hairs. Hahahaha. Get it? Splitting hairs? I kill me.
Don't laugh amm, I want to order shrinkies again without an negative feedback from you..
What do shrinkies have to do with my opinion on ridged metal rings?
I've seen what I think are micro rings with silicon rubber ridges lining the inside on German hair websites, designed to be more secure, esp. for fine/thin hair. And I am very intrigued by this. The sites are predominately in German though, so I need to do a bit more research before I try to place an order. Also overseas micro rings seem to come in a whole rainbow of colours, which would be quite nice.
Slightly OT, but just to put out there that there do seem to exist many viable variations on the basic extend tube/micro link most of us use.
Give the poor woman a chance - she's only been here 5 minutes and
everyone's jumping down her throat. I, for one, am very interested in
what she has to say about her heat clamps (it really isn't that big a
deal to change a plug or get an adaptor).
For a board that likes to think of itself as 'warm and welcoming', its
members sure can do a good impression of the Spanish inquisition.

I have heard a few good things about the ridges inside, myself, but I
haven't tried them. It seems to be common among microring brands sold
in Europe.
As for the prices: actually, 35 US dollars is 27 euro, currently- so
the posted link is indeed a good price for North Americans. UKers or
Europeans might save more money on shipping by buying yours, though.
Yeah, missmean? I've been wading though international ebay and my bookmarks looking for where I saw these links but it's tedious, as I don't read German. So I'm scanning pictures and using a translator. I can say now that your ebay auctions were some of the one I had stumbled across. I remember them distinctly because of the red colour they come in. Havn't seen them yet in an orangey red as opposed to a bungany red, though. Anyway...I've almost bought your rings a few times, but am considering the switch to shrinkies. Also, sometimes I can find your auctions in English and sometimes not! lol. They look neat though.
Yes the silicone rings are large size and kind of expensive. Until now, only a hand full of clients asked for it, but I don't think I am going to sell them.
Thx, I am trying to make the description as perfect as possible. I hope I can give all the informations which are needed.
I have an german account, and sometimes I am posting some auctions on ebay.uk. But I see now, I have only microrings in uk now....
An orange color is possible, but I have to say, my supplier changes his colors like his mind Now I have burgundy/cherry red ones, and need the orange ones...grrrrrr....
I am also wearing shrinkies and microrings at the mom, I like both systems, but microrings are the clients lovelies...
Because of shipping to usa: some clients received their stuff within 7 days, others had to wait 2 weeks and more. German post is like a snail.
I have to say that everyone really chewed her a new @#%* and I am pretty interested in what she has to say about the microrings! Especially the ones coated with silicone inside(if I heard that right!) Obviously ridges are going to yank out the clients natural hair, so I don't gives a rat's @#@%% about that, but I do like to hear about new things that are out there.
