For real, Thanks a bunch, so I guess 3" is the best length, so I guess Ill just grow it that long. But in the mean time I guess ill just have to take good care of my hair till it gets that long. But if any buddy has any other suggestions feel free to add in...thanks.

Nothing you can do to style your straight hair into curls.
Think about the curls you want. If you stretch them straight, how long would the hair be? Probably about three times as long.
It takes about a minimum of 1-1/2 inches to do a perm, as the stylist has to be able to wrap the hair around small rollers to do it. That's 1-1/2" all over minimum. If you trim and the sides and back are too short, it will look really weird to have curls on top of straight hair.
If what you wanted was curls, why did you shave your head?
Don't cut or shave again. I think you're going to need at least 3" to pull off the look you want.
Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

I really want some curls, not like those loose shaggy curls, I want some tight curls, like justin timberlake curls, and I want to be able to grow an afro or something. I just got a fresh cut (shaved my head) is their any way I can brush it, put something in my hair to make it curly, or do I have to wait and get a perm, and if so with the perm how long (length) does my hair have to be?
