I wonder if they are talking about the Jennifer Anniston "Shag" cut
that was so popular a few years ago. (You know, the one that curves
under from the crown in longer layers and then flips out at the neck
level) It's still extremely popular but it's called all kinds of things
now - upsidedown shag, square layer shag, square layer bob, are a few
I've heard it called.

I have absolutely no idea, maybe someone else will. I wanted to
suggest that maybe its just a blonde or highlighted shag? It's a
funny name for a haircut because "california shag" is actually a type
of carpet!

I am a hairdresser in Louisiana. Recently advertisement for the "California Shag Cut" has been popping up every where. I am familiar with a shag cut. Does any one know what's so different about the California one?
