wow...never heard that. What brand of shrinkies are you using? I wonder if it could be to big of sectioning causing the shrinkie to blow out over time? How long have your shrinkies been in?

I have tried all brands of shrinkies; docs, kristins, my own, several non-adhesive brands and shrink links and none have ever split from normal wear.

what are you doing to care/style your hair?
blow drying?
straigtening iron?
maybe with extra heat abuse, and thermal cylcling they became brittle?
Did you do your roots while they were in?

I don't know mine are lovely.   But I don't do much anythin exciting to my hair.

The only time mine have split is during removal.  So maybe when you are applying, or styling (like mocha said) they are getting too much heat.

I get that all the time! It's so annoying... It's like.. i just run my hands through my hair and feel around and i notice a few shrinkies that have split in half (sometimes the half falls out without me knowing) and i can feel the sticky residue underneath it... i thought that happened to everyone...

Ive never had a shrinkie split. I wsh blowdry and curl daily (sometimes twice). My only thought would be that the section of hair is too big and streching the top of the shrinkie, that may cause it to split over time??? Or maybe you are overheating them during application?? Im not sure on this one as Ive never seen or heard of it before now!

I have had this and what happens is you melted thoughs to long and they allways were split but the glue held them for a while then because they are open it breaks the glue down and they come out. It only hapens to me on the ones I put in myself because I cant see!!!! On client's I can tell if I over cooked it and take it off. (just my opion )

The problem is with the installation. Shrinkies don't just split when correctly applied.

I think it's safe to say that shrinkies will also split when sliced in half lengthwise. Isn't that how someone installed them so as not to have to loop the hair through? That would seriously compromise the integrity of the shrinkie in my expert technical opinion.

hello snow,

when you say the shrinkies feel sticky, do they have glue inside them? or are they a plastic tube.  A lady emailed me and said that her shrinkies were splitting and slipping out, but I thought she had not installed them properly... but she told me her bonds were small...

someone kindly pm me yesterday, and said they were sending me some samples, so hopefully I will be able to have a go soon...

thanks for the advice sherrie... anymore would be appreciated, before I start installing...
