this is so cool, this method is on http://www.drlocks.net the main site. it is a sew-in weave that use's a track but not a braid. it's for hair that will not hold a braid and/or for someone that wants a non lumpy weave. the microrings are used with no extension hair to form a track, then the wefted hair is sew-in. it's hard to explain but if you look at it a few times you will get it. it seams like it would only take 2or 3 hours at the most to do a full head. i'm gonna try it on my manequin.

and god said let there be hair extensions.

I tried this.

I find it easier to make the track by making normal sections and putting the rings in like you would for attaching the hair that way just without hair and then doing the sewing...

ummm if you go back a ways the last time I posted pics of an install it was those tracks and then ~40-50 shrinkies.

I wore them about 6 weeks took them out on friday.  Only reason i took them out was the hair wasn't holding up anymore.  It was a little different for the takedown but it wore fine.  Couldn't do much in the way of up dos without things showing a little funny.

YOu had put shrinkies on your mom recently right?  She didn't like them cause they were tight?  You aren't gonna get around that with this.  its fewer attachments but not ridiculously so.  I found it slightly easier to sleep on but that might b cause I forced to put my hair in a low ponytail rather than the high one I prefer for sleep.  So my neck was in all kinds of the wrong position but I didn't have the attacahments facing the wrong way.

what else you want to know?

i put microrings in her hair. she doesnt like them beacuse they were slipping because i use pre bonded hair with the small rings and they wouldn't close all the way (the tips were to big). i think she would like this. i cant think of any questions at this time, but i'm sure i'll think of one or 10.lol thanx for the info.

You can do a search in the forum for either a username or a topic, and it'll come up.

Yeah, Doc posted this method herself a few months ago. I really like it; it takes less time to do than a braided weave, and is less bulky- plus I don't have to spend 2 hours before every appointment sewing the rings to the weft.

I don't have the shrinkies.  Can I do it with those tiny little rubber bands or will that break my hair?  Will it break more than it would wit hte shrinkies?  My hair is so fine I had Extensions sewn in and they just kept sliding right out.  The braids refused to stay!

My hair is so short though, can I use the shrinkies to pull it all up...there is no blending it when your hair is as sort as mine.

You don't want to use the links or shrinks to pull all your hair up.  But you will want to put tracks very high up on your head to make it blend better.

Howl ong is your hair?  It has to be reasonably long for you to have had cornrows to attach your previous weave to.

Chin length...maybe that's why it kept falling out.  It is a bob cut so it is pretty long from the crown, but of course at my neck it is like 3/4 of an inch.  I put a track in with rubber bands at my neck and it caused me to break out...I guess it was to tight, but it didn't go anywhere.

I think you have plenty of hair for blending.  And you could start maybe an inch from the nape of your neck which I would guess would give you enough hair to put in a link/shrink to make the track.
