Ya i have heard the same thing although i havent tried it. I heard if you wash ur hair like 3 times a week and use conditioner on the other days ur hair will keep a lot of its natural oils that keep it strong
but like i said i dont no if its true i just know a couple people have told me that
True. I wash every 8-9 days, and the scalp has adjusted. No greasiness, and very very minimal itching. ETA and there's zero breakage, zero splits, and no dryness. I'm so happy!!
Well i suppose it true, esp. judging from AnaisSatin's hair! But then if u don't wanna do that then just taking extra good care of it and washing everyday or every other day should be adequate enough. Truthfully, the longest i've gone *before my scalp goes crazy* is one week, and that seemed like an eternity. Actually it was during one exam week where i was totally unable to do anything out of academics! lol. Anyway, Anais i think u should audition for those shampoo comercials where the models hair is too good to be true! hehe, except that ur is for real
Veronica made a really really good point. There's no harm in washing often (as long as you're not going for "freakishly long" hair, heehee), as long as you make up for it with extra care and especially using conditioner every time.
Hehe I read this article abt a girl in England who hadn't shampood her hair for 11 years!!! She only rinsed it w/ water once a month, and says she doesn't feel anything, and onbiously by this time, she has no frizz in her hair anymore, lol! I found that hard to believe, but maybe the scalp becomes immune or something if u suddenly stop washing ur hair at all!
I've read of people who only rinsed their hair with cold water. One man told me in all seriousness that I could "move down" the grease from the scalp to the ends while doing this rinse, and that it made their hair more manageable, silky, etc, and kept the hair from looking oily.
Some women who did this kept a log on another site. Many of the comments made me feel that a big part of the adaptation process is getting used to the idea of having hair that is less clean, maybe not clean at all according to your earlier standards.
I tried a water rinse once on dirty hair, hair which had 2" of greasy roots. Afterwards there were still 2" of greasy roots, my scalp was still covered with oily gunk, and the previously applied conditioner was gone, leaving my hair a tangly, dry mess.
YMMV.
Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?
yea it's true it keeps the natural oils and it also helps grow quicker
because the amino acids stay on your scalp. the amino acids also
prevent the hair from breakage. sleeping on a cotton pillow or pillow
case also absorbs moisture and amino acids-leaving the very hair
dry
